Ht. 5'1", Start: 150 lb, Today: 130 lb - When I had moved into my house at the age of 12 I weighed 150 pounds. I was going through a rough time and both my mom and I were eating because we were stressed. I kept telling myself I was going to lose the weight, but by the time i turned 13 I only weighed 147 pounds. That summer my mother told me she was going to lose more than 100 pounds in 6 months, but I told her I didn't think she would. Then a couple weeks later my mother went to the doctor and he told her she wouldn't be able to take care of my brother and I if she didn't lose the weight. My mother weighed 230 pounds and she didn't like hearing from her daughter that I didn't even think she could lose the weight and my mother wanted to be their for my brother and I. The first month my mom went on on a full liquid diet because she had gotten surgery done on her stomach. After that first month she had lost more than 10 pounds and than that's where she found the secret it was the foods high in carbs making her gain weight. My mother swore off all breads, pasta,rice, or anything fried. She ate lots of protein. Now many people think it's bad to eat to much protein, well it is. That's why my mom drank lot's water to get rid of any thing that would ruin her organs. After 6 months my mom lost the weight. She now weighs 120 pounds and has been maintaining the weight for awhile. She still hasn't eaten any bread, pasta, or rice, but she eats carb controlled tortillas and every night treats herself with 2 squares of chocolate. Oh yes if your cheese lover than you'll be happy to hear she ate lot's of cheese while trying to loose the weight. Now if your reading this your probably wondering why she doesn't eat breads, rice, and pasta well that's because they act like a poison to your body. You may not believe this, but I did the exact same thing my mother did for a week and lost 3 pounds, but then i decided to eat a sandwich. That night I got very sick because the bread acted like a poison and my body was rejecting it. So if your looking for a success story look at my mother; even though people didn't believe she would loose the weight she did and she is more confident,healthier, and happier than I've seen her in awhile. All you need to do is to think about what you will get in the end. I hope this story helps anyone trying to lose weight know there not alone. One more thing my mom lost all this weight just by sitting at a desk at work and once she lost more than half the weight she then began to work out but barely. Just stay away from anything high carb amounts and DRINK lots of water and eat Tons of Protein. If your a vegetarian cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, and beans have lots of protein.
