just remember when you want to eat something and you're saying to yourself- oh well- i'll do better tomorrow- stop! because you won't get to mid march 30 pounds lighter if you do that. don't just say i'll do better tomorrow say you'll keep going strong and that you don't need that right then. say that tasting that for a moment isn't worth the hour you'll have to workout to get it back off. good luck! don't let yourself start to cheat- but if you do don't say you'll start again tomorrow- start with your next meal!

dig deep inside urself for motivation, that is the only person who will really drive yourself to loosing weight. In the end U can only do it for you. If you want it bad enough u will get there. There's more to loosin weight than just exercise and nurtition, its a mental battle too. Stick with it through the good the bad and the down-right ugly!!!! ~Just thought that i would put that, I need to say it to myself everyday, but i don't. Keep that in mind while you take ur journey. U can do it :)

keep asking urself how bad you want to loose weight or how bad you want to be healthy. Put lil reminders up like ur goal weight in key areas where you would see them everyday. I did that and put it on the fridge workout tapes and this calorie guide thing and it always keeps me thinking of where i want to go. write down all your motivations in a journal and look back at them. Hopefully those tips will help. good luck. ~chelsea~

if you have a picture of yourself when you were skinny it would be good to look at it before you eat and realize that you shou;dn't be binging or eating junk or anything when youre not hungry!

Hey Ya'll. Just an update on my weight loss. Since last Friday I've been workin' like crazy doing Tae Bo, weight training, crunches, and pushups. I did all that each day (except Sunday, because my body needs rest) with my low carbing. This was definitely difficult for me because as some of you probably know, I HATE exercising... but thank God I got through all that. lol Saturday morning (I only weigh myself once a week on the weekends) after I got out of the shower I knew I had to weigh myself but I was sooo scared that all my work had been in vain and that I hadn't lost much weight. Anyways after standing in front of the scale about 5 minutes (just staring mind you) I finally stepped on and I couldn't believe it, I had lost 10lbs in a little over a week! All my hard work and resisting bad foods had paid off! I was ecstatic (as you can probably imagine =D) and was walking on air the rest of the day. I can't wait 'til Monday to start over again. ;D If I keep going at this rate I'll go past my short term weight loss goal of 175 by January. (YAYY!! lol) You guys keep doing what you're doing, don't be discouraged if you get off track, remember everyone does (believe me, I have lol). Congrats to all who have lost weight! Every bit counts. Keep up the good work everyone. Sorry this is so long (as you can tell I talk a lot lol), but I had to tell someone! 1 -Veronica

Hey All,I gotta confess, I haven't done as well as I know I can because I've lost my motivation a bit (just seems like being thin will never come to me, and seeing all the Thanksgiving food you're not allowed didn't help any lol). I need just a little boost... do you all have any motivational things you do to help you keep going, even when you're tempted to cheat or when in a weight loss plateau? Thanx to all who answer -Veronica

ach! you know what always motivates me and keeps me going? it's when i wear elastic things. like elastic underwear that conveniently(sarcasm) comes to my trouble spto so that my fat sticks out and makes me look lumpy. it's just so soft and disgusting. i have the same problem with my tennis spandex it's all too tight no matter how big the size is. my ultimate goal is to have muscle there instead of fat and for that to not happen so it helps me remeber why i'm doing it. and i think that i don't want to do badly on my siet because i'll regret it a lot more when i have to weigh myself for the week. remember- it's more frustrating and stressful staying fat then it is becoming skinny...

Hey! I am Mrs. motivated! I did a fitness video (the firm) last night. I feel good. As much as i hate (and i mean really hate) geting sweaty, it feels just plain good to move my body. I kinda felt like a rusty hinge finally getting WD-40ed. :) Any whoo, I dunno Girls have a ton of pressure from magazines, movies, school, and even parents (me) to lose weight just to look better, and not feel better. I've come to this great place where I know that the "world" wants me to lose weight for beauty purposes, but i'm losing it just so that i can go shopping and not have to shop around the big tire on my tummy, that and i'm looking forward to feeling lighter. Right now i just feel heavy. Does anybody know what i'm talking about?

Doesn't just moving around feel good? I would also suggest walking around with a CD playe with either really upbeat music, or hard angry music. When ever i'm feeling a certain mood that i don't like music always always helps especially when i'm using energy to walk around maybe even nothing! i feel so energized!

I lost the 20 pounds by doing The Firm video, excersizing, eating right, drinking water and green tea coz it speeds up ur metabolism..and I was just patient and I believed I can do it and If you believe you can do it, you can..Coz actually I didnt think I was that overweight until my exboyfriend dumped me coz I gained weight over the summer..At first I sobbed and layed in bed all day eating icecream... lol but then I knew it was revenge! So I dropped 20 pounds and now I'm 140 and well I have some muscle too..and I walked past him at skool and I felt great! Later on that day he said he was sorry and asked for me back..And I said No ur getting too fat...and i walked away, he got the deal..I'm not skinny but I kinda have a J'lo figure.JUST DONT GIVE UP ON YOURSELF! I DID THAT TO MANY TIMES! and then i believed i could do it and basically willpower is all it took..If anyone ever makes fun or picks on you, you just prove them wrong and then that really makes you want to not give up on it...Also make sure you satisfy your biggest critic........YOU.

Hey Sarah, First of all I just wanted to say that I'm really sorry about your current situation. And I am not talking about your weight. Your family is supposed to be your supporters and help you, not to make fun of you. I agree with Krystle next time one of your family members or even your teachers.. (which i must say is totlally wrong and they should know that. The teachers job is to help you learn to grow not to bring you down) critizes you tell them how much you are trying, and how much their comments hurt you. If they do noy understand this than tell them that you really want to lose the weight, but it's very difficult without all of the support. I must say that I've had avery supportive family who has always loved me for who I am and not how much I weigh. And now that I'm finally doing this and sticking to it (although it's been less than a week) I dont know how I would do it... And now that I'm finally doing this and sticking to it (although it's been less than a week) I dont know how I would do it without the support of my family, or of the teens in this chat room. So if your family doesnt wanna support you in your struggles, let me tell you that we will and you can always post how your feeling, and if you really want this you can stick to it. Just looking at these posts for like 10 minutes every day has given me so much hope, and I bet the chats are really helpful tooo.. (i just don't know how to use it yet. So anyways start slow.. Take a 10/15 min walk as much as you can during the week, do this when your happy or even angry.. When I'm angry it is my favorite time to go for a walk because I feel so much better after. With your eating cut out as many carbs as you can a day try to drink more water, or tea or in other instances drink diet soda. Eat more fruit and vegetables, and Ive found that a handful of peanuts or a bananna with a little peanut butter keeps from being hungry. Set up your own plan something you can stick to. And it's hard but get rid of the sweets. And if you absolutely need something have your mom pick up some healthy chioce fudgicals or something. It's only been about 5 days for me but since im not on a "diet" persay, I am not thinking about food. I used to think about it all the time but since, I feel like im not on a plan where i cant eat fruit, and some other things it has become much easier for me. But Krystle and Anne are right you should try and at least go for a walk, dance while claeaning your room, but u need to eat healthy and excersize to lose weight continously. And another thing talk to your doctor, I did that last friday I told her I was concerned about my weight and how seld concious I felt and she gave me tips and a packet on how to get yourself motivated. Good luck, and if you have any more questions about what my eating paln is like or whatever, send me a post..Good luck sarah, *MaNdY* (view less)
