I used to be overweight. But now im not. I just made sure that i ate a lot better. Like i eat a big breakfast. when you do that you are full for a long time. Plus if you want to lose the un wanted weight you have to remember to be strong. Remember what that one Twinkie will do to your body.Dont make my mistake, you need to eat a lot healther, and make sure you exercise

do you have a dog? take him/her for a walk for 1/2 an hour when you come home from school. (This also helps you clear your head if you've had a bad day at school :) ) Watch what you eat, that is, eat more healthier stuff. If I want a chocolate bar I take an apple, cut it into pieces and dip a bit of it into nutella (that chocolately spread stuff.) Make substitutions like that and you won't feel like you're depriving yourself, but you will be losing weight.

im 14, 5'8" and about 216. i know what you mean. you dont gotta go to the extremes..try gradually. cut down on some of the junk foods and sodas and drink as much water as possible. you mite wanna try low impact workouts and work up. you could try walking every day...walking instead of getting a ride. i know its hard so go slowly.

Not eating is not the way to lose weight. If you want to lose weight you just have to work out and eat healthy skip the fast food and the chips eat more veg.'s and drink more water. It works because i have lost 16 pounds doing this and I am happy with myself...and you have to be happy with your self before you can be happy with you body. Good luck and dont give up because if you do than you lose.

All i did was eat 4 grams of fat for breakfast and 7 for lunch and dinner. plus i jumped on the trampoline for like 10 minutes and swam for an hour everyday. the amount of fat grams that food has in it is on the label right under the calories. you can eat as much fruit and veggies that you want because they dont have any fat grams in them. if you want a low fat snack just fill up the icecube tray with any kind of fruit juice or water and lemon juice mixed and crush it up when it freezes and youve got a low fat slushie plus its YUMMY!

Hey my name is Angel. My mom is a dietition (someone who helps people eat right) and i wanted to give you guys some tips. I was reading the bulletins, and it seems like the way some of you are trying to lose weight is not the best way. First of all, and this is obvious, i would really cut down or give up pop/chips/unhealthy snacks. if you have a snack, pour it into a bowl, don't eat out of the bag. this way you realize how much you are eating. when you eat fast, you don't always feel full right away, so it is better to slow down. you don't need to feel full all the time. drink a lot of water. a lot of you are just trying to cut down on food, but that's not the best answer, unless you really are over-eating. by eating less food, your body thinks there is not enough food. it will burn muscle first, and save the fat. so only cut down on food if you are eating too much. eat... i'm 5'5" and 151. i use to be 160 but i've lost almost 10 lbs in 2 months. my goal is 135 so that's 25 lbs. i am a junk food and candy lover, so this has not been easy! lol... what i do is plan out 1,500 calories a day. now, my friends definitely aren't on diets lol so they pull out cookies, chips, all the good stuff. i'll take a tiny piece of cookie, or a few m & m's... so that way i atleast get something but i don't overdo it! i probably rack up about 100 cals. a day with those little munchies. try and cut out as much sugar as possible, like with juices, sodas, and desserts. definitely eat lots of fruits and veggies. i have been running a fast mile and a half or two (depending on what i feel like ) 4 or 5 days a week. but i just read that running longer distances slower increases your metabolism more. so i'm gonna run for 30 mins. this will burn about 300 calories at most, so with 1,600 cals a day and minus 300, that's almost 2 pounds a week you'll lose. i hope to shed all the weight by june first! we'll see how it goes! good luck! if you wanna e-mail me, it's JJStew3@hotmail.com

Hi Joseph! Ask your mother to help you loose weight. Ask her to buy more healthy foods and drinks. Lots of fruits and vegetables taste good and are good for you. Do some excersizes a few times a week- if you have a dog, take it for walks. Try to drink lots of water because it's very good for you. Also, fruit juices are bad for you, they have a lot of sugar in them. If you would like to know more email me jtrabilsy@yahoo.com

Calorie counting diets and low fat diets both work. You could try either, but low fat diets are healthier and easier to keep doing long term!!! If you go on a calorie counting diet, you will have to stay on it forever otherwise you will definitely gain the weight back. Low fat diet should become a "way of life" and will keep you healthy when you are old. Don't try a low fat and low calorie diet it is too restricting and unless you are planning to become anorexic (bad choice - I used to be one so I know!) you will gain the weight back as soon as you stop! Low fat is absolutely best!!!

One of the best things to do that usually will always work(unless you have a medical problem that makes it difficult to lose any weight) is cut out the unhealthy fats(grease, lots of butter....ect), white flour(white bread..ect) and large amounts of sugar(any type of pastry, candy...) and get at least 30 minutes of any kind of active movement every day. Building muscle is also a great way to lose weight because for every 3 pounds of muscle you have you have, you will burn an extra 150 calories. Hope these help, good luck!

hey, im doing the same thing you are, eating healthier foods and not eating junk, i also only eat 3 meals, i heard that drinking lots of water helps too and you should also exercise. Exercising is great too! Even if you walk for like an hour you burn off a few calories, those calories will add up everyday and you will see results, i also lost 10 pounds in about 2 weeks doing the same thing you are, good luck to u! byee

Here is a little tip, I've always found it easier to lose weight as a "side effect". What i mean by that is that losing weight has always been better for me when it's a surprise. I think the best way to go about this is to start a training regimine, for a sport, or just for personal health. There are many sites on the net devoted to training and cross training for sports. Pick up and program and track your progress by things such as how long you can run and how much weight can you bench. That way, you get two self esteem boosters-progressing as far as health, and weightloss. Trust me, success is sweeter this way. Good luck!

Ok, here is what ya do, there are two methods that work real good for food, 1 is counting calories, although i don't recommend that for people who don't have the time or might forget, but it can improve your math skills. Write down all the foods you eat and record how many calorie's you've consumed either from boxes that the food was in, cook books index, or searching that food on the internet, you'll want to eat between 1300-1600 calories. Or, the other method, you can either eliminate snacks, or only eat fruit and veggies for snacks. Then, make sure you eat breakfast, a small lunch, and for dinner, NO SECONDS!, try to make up your meal 1/2 veggies/ fruit 1/4 carbs (pasta, potatoes) 1/8 meat and 1/8 fats (that would be considered desert, like ice cream, only 1 scoop!). Ok, the next part is the hardest, because you have to make sure you DO IT! I recommend that you pick up and exercise... (view more)
