Hey everyone in these past 8 months i have lost 30 pounds! I did it by doing a few things 1- i joined basketball which was right after school... when i ate the most. by doing basketball i had something to do and it was good excersise! 2- i cut out soda and put in water and milk what i mean by this is i used to drink 4 sodas a day and now i only drink one unless i have a sleepover and need to stay up late:) 3- i chewed orbit. lol ok so whenever i got hungry or wanted food i didn't need i would just chew gum. it actually helped! 4- i never ate unless i was REALLY hungry ur stomach will not tell u wrong if ur hungry eat when ur not stop if u have a lot of food in front of u don't eat it all bcuz ur bored... eat until u r satisfied and finally... 5- eat lots of fibers, whole grains, fruits and veggies all that good stuff!

Hi Natalie, Im around the same height as you and used to not be the 'slimest' person ever either, and i'm still not, but now im a healthy body weight (135lbs). What I did: 1)I started by walking to school (if your school is far away, try walking home instead so you arent late), 2)eating less junk food (aka McDonalds, Soda, Chips...), 3) I started going to my local gym every second day with my friend after school, 4) I began to go on hikes with my parents or friends on the weekends. 5) Once I felt more comfortable I joined some sports, 6) I took my dog for walks in the evening after dinner (if you dont have a dog, ask one of your parents to go with you for company). Slowly I began to lose the weight, though it takes ALOT of effort. Once you are finished though, you dont only look better (not saying you look bad), you also feel better. I really hope you can reach your goal of 140lbs! And I hope you will take my advice and work with it! Wishing you luck! -Tracey :)

Hey, look at it this way. The hotter the air around you, the more you swaet, the easier you lose weight. You can literally ust sit there and be burning quite a few calories. SO! To avoid reversing taht process, do NOT over-eat. And too much ice cream is a no-no. Not only cause too much is fattening, but more importantly, because most have other ingredients taht aren't all that healthy, such as synthesized gum and colour additives, and flavour additives. I know it's real hot. Try to look towards otehr alternatives. Freeze yogourt. Still really good, can get different flavours and very healthy. Or, make a banana or strawberry or fruit smoothie, and add ice. Or just freeze the entire thing as a makeshift freezie. Another alternative is plain, ice cold water. G'Luck! Dno't give up..;

I've joined a slimming group and have stuck to the diet for 2 days, which doesn't sound like much but it's an achievement for me! I've found it helps a lot to have something quick to grab just for when you feel like nibbling on something, so I like to keep some grilled chicken chopped into bite size pieces in the fridge :) it just helps to know that I can have the food if I want it, rather than trying to totally restrict myself, so try it! Good luck everyone!

I have the same problem where I have to eat everything on my plate, even if I am full. What I try to do now is put my fork down when I start getting full and decide if I want a little more. If I do, then I eat a little more. If I don't, then I cover my food with a napkin. If I can't see it, then I don't feel like I have to eat it. If that doesn't work, try pouring a little water on your plate. That way your food will taste gross so there is no point eating it. Hope that helps a little =)

My guess would be, just to stop when your full. Lol...If you are full but keep eating just because you want it, it's going to make you miserable. Just stop when you're full and if you get hungry later, you should eat some almonds..they help stop a hunger craving.

First of all, if you are looking for a quick way out, don't read my post. If you are looking for a great way to feel fit, feel healty, and start to feel better about yourself, read it. I'm 213LB, 5'6". I have lost 23LBs still losing about 2-3 every other day. All i have done is cut my portions down to a small but pleasing size. Instead of Soda, i drink Water. Instead of Sugar, use splenda. Candy, don't cut yourself completely from it. Just have it once in a while. That way one day you don't fall into temptation and go on a candy spree. Also, almonds are a great filler or snack food if you have already eaten your main course and feel hungry still. A handfull of those should fix that. As for chocolate cravings, Hot chocolate, Chocolate milk, or a finger dab of Hershey's chocolate syrup should help stop that craving. I have so far increased my exercise to a 30min walk everyday, 10situps, and as many push ups as i can do..but when i lost my wait rapidly, really all i was doing was that 30min. walk per day. I hope you have sucess and i hope this helped. Good luck. :)

Hi. I'm no expert, but i have lost quite a bit of weight and this is how: First i limited my self to small portions. I made sure i was never hungry. Eating almonds can help your hunger decrease, and chocolate milk or cocoa or even a small dab of that hershey's syrup can keep away the chocolate cravings. When faced with a choice of soda or water..water is a better choice. Reducing the amount of soda you drink can make a big difference. If you don't like excercise, a good choice might be at least 30min. walks every day. By following all of this i have lost 23 pounds. Hope this helps :)And Good Luck.

As long as you feel full you can't feel starved! - There's also that mentality of feeling "starved" or "deprived" because of the TYPES of foods you have to cut out to lose weight. Have these.. in SMALL.. and i mean small moderation. Don't have fast food one night or a peice of chocolate cake and weigh yourself the next day and say.. hey.. i didn't gain anything from that cake.. Because you'll keep it up and the weight you lost will slowly creep up on you. If you want chips, have a single serving and that's it. Just make sure it's not done all the time! Even a few BITES of something will suffice. I know it's not fair but it's life and that's why we're here! - Become educated with your body and health in general. I've spent so many days reading different magazines and articles and websites, talking to different people to put together what i think is a healthy meal plan for myself. Different people say, eat this much fiber, this many carbs.. protein blah blah. A SUMMARY: Have as much fiber and protein that you can with any of your meals. Have more vegetables then you have fruit (Many of us agree that fruits are better tasting and EASIER to retrieve, but they still have natural sugars!) Drink lots of water. (duh) Cut out lots of saturated fat by switching from red meat to white meat and fish and by swtiching all full fat dairy products to low fat or fat free. (this doesn't mean don't ever have those things.. sometimes you need and crave REAL cheese or yogurt..so go for it, get over your craving and move on) - DO NOT UNDEREAT!!!!!!!!!!!! I can not stress this anymore than that. Undereating leads to malnutrition and bingeing. If you really think your doing your body a favor by giving it less energy, you are not! For a while it was hard for me to even get over 1000 calories. I read up on this so many times in so many different places and found that 1500 is a healthy cushion. Especially when combined with excersize. I found ways to add calories to my diet by incorporating healthy fats, such as avocado or peanut butter and nuts. I have at least one GOOD fat a day like this. This doesn't mean have a cheeseburger once a day to fulfill your caloric needs.. it means to simply fill up those calories with good foods! You'll have strengh, energy and your body will be CONTENT! - If you're sick of excersize, you're doing something wrong. Face it, to lose weight and keep it off you're going to have to do it literally FOREVER. I know many people are saying.. "I worked my butt off for 2 weeks excersizing and haven't lose much weight.." Well.. it's going to happen. you're going to be excersizing for YEARS! So get used to it and love it! =) - Don't weigh yourself. Really. I used to weigh myself every couple of days.. then every week and neither really work. Perhaps once a month if at all, if it really gives you that motivational feeling, but if you're doing it right you should start to look and feel better right? There are so many things to take into consideration; muscle gain, water weight, bloatiness, what you've eaten that day, or even the scale you're using. Scales make us obsessive! Work towards a healthier body instead of just a "smaller" one! -When i kept a food journal, I found myself becoming obsessive. Back in 2005 I used to come on here all the time and post what I had eaten every day.. It makes you obsessive! You're gonna be eating those foods forever! It's a good way to catch what you're eating that's bad.. but this is for the rest of your life! So learn to live with it and don't think about it so much.. you should have a good general idea of good foods and obsessiveness will just lead to a relapse. - Plan, Plan, Plan! Really. It's the best thing to do. Everynight I make my lunch for school the next day so I wont wake up in the morning, too tired and rushed to do so and eat junk at school. It takes getting used to but soon enough you'll whip up a good lunch or dinner in no time! - If you feel yourself craving bad foods and on the edge of a binge, look at success stories or busy yourself with something else. So many times i've gotten over wanting to eat chips of french fries by just doing something else! I wasn't even hungry! - Lastly, Don't give up! We can all do it! =) (view less)

I mean that wasnt bad, i'd say about 15 pounds overwieght then. Then once my best friend told me to back off the cakes and cookies, i lost it. I broke his nose and told his mother, then she said the same thing. After that I went on a eating frennzyy. I have to say i gained about 45 pounds in a range of the season of fall. I felt great, but I know that I was just digging myself deeper in the hole of obesity :(... This cycle repeated until around 6th grade (middle school). It was this time when i found the love of my life, Zoey from the hit TV show Zoey 101. I wrote her letters everyday, telling her that I was 6'1'' and 150lbs. I was at this point, living in a fantasy world. Then my mother told me that I would never have a chance with her, so I decided to become anerexic. I tried for 2 days, but it was twinki tourture. So the next day I went to an all you could eat buffet, just outside of the town I was living in. I ate so much I had to get my stomach pumped. Until this day, I have been doing this, and became a regular at the buffet. I love food, but need help. Any Advice? :/

You will also keep it off, as in the weight loss process your lifestyle will change as well, making it easier to keep the weight off.Unless you want to try liposuction, or some maybe unsafe surgery like a stomach stapling, or a gastric bypass procedure..unless u really wannt try "going anorexic" which becomes a dangerous physical and mental health illness which can really make u ill....then dieting and exercise are the way to go.Doctors say it's healthy to lose anywhere from 3 to 5 pounds a week.
