Ht. 5'3", Start: 134 lb, Today: 278 lb (BMI %tile: 98), Goal: 130 lb - Im Amy. I used to be kinda skinny, but I started eating more and not playing soccer, and I've put on a lot of weight in the last several years. At first, I hated being like this. I had to buy all new clothes and it was difficult to force myself into even the larger sizes, and I would always bulge out of jeans or shorts. Now, I dont care. I actually enjoy my weight. Yes, I have stretch marks. I jiggle, and i hate 3 large fat rolls that layer my stomach, and it's hard to get up sometimes. But I can eat whatever I want! i eat when i get stressed out, but lately i havent been trying to stop myself. I've put on a lot more weight, and now I have to wear my pants below my stomach. unfortunately my stomach hangs out all the time, but my parents wont buy me new pants or shirts until i start losing weight. but I dont WANT to lose weight. I love to overeat. I feel like i should care and want to lose weight since I am getting fatter and fatter, but the food is so good! soon none of my clothes will be able to fit anymore though, but i dont know what to do. I dont think anyone can help me at this point. :(

I've tried multiple times to lose weight, and I eventually gained it all back. Why? Because I wasn't doing it for me. I felt like it's what my parents wanted me to do. Now, I'm losing the weight for me, and it's working and i feel great. Don't lose weight until you're ready, truly committed to succeeding. Don't lose weight for anyone but yourself. And don't lose weight for the "cute clothes" or whatever lame excuse us girls tend to come up with. Lose it to be healthier. Do it for you.

I want to help people around me be fit and healthy too but it will take some work. To help me out i have made a list of things that me and my family can do together or alone so we stay away from food. My fav one is listen to music and dance because i love music and even though i can't dance i try to have fun and make a fool of myself. LOL Life is so much better when you are more confident of your self.

I try so hard to cover up how insecure I am--I dress in style and never leave home without hair and makeup done. I avoid confronting my weight infront of people as much as I possibly can. I want to be healthy and I want to get past all this, but I'm embarrassed to even try. I used to go to the gym, but I was afraid people would look at me and think "What is that fatty doing?" I get so depressed over the way I look. I feel like no one will ever accept me, that no guy will ever want me, and that I should be ashamed of myself for even existing. I just want this constant self-hatred to stop. I want to feel okay. I'm a size 24 right now, and I want to be at least a 16 by prom time. Like that'll happen.

Hi Alex I know exactly how you feel I used to go to the gym at 5am so that no one would see me sadly a few people were always there but it was better then a crap loud seeing me, I loved to run but I never did it during the day cause I was afraid people would see me and barf but I learned not to worry about what people thought about me working out because they might think that I'm gross for being so fat and working out but next week I could be even bigger at the store buying junk and they'll judge me much worse then. I am a twin. To a wonderful, kind brother. He is a football player and his quite popular. I'm "Mitchell's fat twin sister." ...that's my title. His friends make perverted jokes about me because of my weight and because they like to provoke him. A couple of times they've had the nerve to make those comments to my face. It's hard, there's no doubt about it. But I think you've just got to love yourself and ignore them. A wise woman told me that I need to look at myself in the mirror and tell myself "I'm beautiful and gorgeous because I am me." It sounds cheesy but it works. I have confidence in myself that I've never had before. I think people need to learn is that it's not about being skinny and popular. It's about being healthy and comfortable with yourself. You shouldn't change for anyone but you. Those bullys can tease and judge but you shouldn't let it affect you. Because if you let it affect you, you've let them win....Yes, lose weight! Ok, I don't know if any of you guys remember me, but I am the boy who wieghed 396 pounds i march well I am happy to say I now wiegh 250 pounds! OMG i am so happy, I look thinner than ever because I am 5'11, I lost over 100 pounds in over a half of year and I am still loosing, let me tell you guys, I was 15 years old, I almost wighed 400 pounds! and Now I wiegh 250, I feel great I got energy, and I also got be a girlfriend! OMG my self asteem is higher than ever! I will never gain wieght again, also to say, I can now go to amusment parks and fit basically in every ride! I was so happy...wow this is an expirence of a lifetime, I just wanna tell everone out there, never! ever give up and don't make food your enemy, and dont! let anyone tell you that you wont be able to do it, just eat healthy eat smaller portions drink water, and excersise for at least an hr, everyday for 5 days, I garauntee you will loose weight!Good luck guys..!!

Hi everyone! Today, I put on my skirt, cute shirt, jean jacket, and flip flops, and I felt so good. If you dress up a little, it helps you from eating bad. At least for me it does. But I just ended up going to blockbusters. lol. But I still am wearing it around the house. I cant wait, till I can fit into my other skirt. Which is a size smaller.

Hey guys I am so happy right now! I have lost 11 pounds in two weeks. And I was not really trying! I am kinda doing weight whatchers with my mom and my own thing! My mom drinks alot of diet pop well I switch to tea with no sugar or alittle splenda ! And I have cut down on my portions and I am not eeating after 6:00 ! Also I have been doing alot of walking! Don't get down on yourself for being overwieght. "Fat" is such a cruel word and when someone calls you that just tell them that they shouldnt judge you. And also loosing weight fast is not the anwser. You have to go slow and work. Start running just around your block or down your road or driveway. Eventualy you will be able to run more and more. I run 1 to 2 miles everynight and when I get down I feel greet I dont even care about my weight. You are aproaching this the wrong way. Weight loss and a hard earned thing. And after you get it off (the right way) You will be able to keep it off. And if the guy you like dosent like you for who you are. That just means that he isnt worth you time.

i'm so happy! marty wants to lose weight with me! i don't think there's anything wrong with his body but he's been gaining a lot of weight and is almost to 200. i'm excited because it'll be more fun losing weight with him. we've decided to do 30 minutes of ddr(dance dance revolution) a night and eat less. i'm also going to do another 30 minute workout every day though. i feel great because i just finished my first workout of the day and it feels really good to know what i acomplished. i went from not being able to jog for a full 5 minutes at a time to being able to jog 20 minutes at a time along with weights and ab work! i love treating my body like this! it's great to know how far i've come. and even though i don't look too much different physically i am very more controlled and happier emotionally and i know i can do whatever i put my mind to...

I have read a lot of posts lately and I just wanted to say that it looks like everyone who is trying to lose is not confident about it. For me, I always had a quote in mind. My favorite is "begin with the end in mind" and I think it is so appropriate. When you start your diet you have to begin with the confidence that you can do it. You have to find the strength to pull through all of it. Don't give up,begin with the end in mind. When you fall short of your goal,don't stop. Keep pushing until you cross the finish line. Ht. 6'1", Start: 275 lb, Today: 260 lb (BMI %tile: 98) - This looks like a great site, good to share with others who know the struggle. I've been overweight my entire life, and it sucks. I've always been the fat kid, but it wasnt that big of a deal since I always had friends and was well liked by everyone. Anyways, im in grade 10 now and have finally just had ENOUGH of it. I want a girlfriend and thats just not going to happen having me being really overweight. I always thought i would be fat forever, but i've found inside the means and motivation to lose weight, and realise that yes, it can be done but i've got to work for it. When I started my war on flab in mid november i weighed in at about 275 pounds, although I am 6'1 and have a large frame and am fairly muscular (underneath the coat of fat that is lol). Since then i've lost about 15 pounds and am down to 260 and am already feeling and looking better. I don't eat too much, usually a nutrishake in the morning, some fruit for lunch then a regular dinner. I don't count calories or anything like that, i just make sure that i dont eat too much. I also lift weights and walk about 1.5 kilometers on my treadmill (i increase the distance as time goes on) everyday. I really hope that I can keep it up and stay motivated, and I wish the same for all of you too. My secrets so far have been killer music when exercising, and keeping my eye on the prize (picture my body the way i want it).

Well my target weight is about 190 pounds... thats the US Army standard for somebody my height and age. Also, even if getting a girl friend isn't the case of my weightloss, it still is a HUGE relief off my mind. If i don't have to worry about what people think of me because im fat, that gives me a HUGE confidence boost and its one HUGE stress off my mind. Also i think if i can drop the excess fat, then i've already got the muscle for a nice six pack or some big-ol biceps lol. But a girlfriend isnt my main reason, its just one more factor that attributes to my motivation. I want to feel better physically and mentally, have more energy and endurance, and look better on a whole. Plus if I can get into shape for next football season I might have enough energy to play a game without having to be huffing and puffing all the way through it. On the subject of mostly girls being on this board, thats a big thing because there IS alot of pressure from the media and hollywood and such to look really good and be thin and such, but in the end you've got to do it for yourself.
