Don't go on a diet. Make little lifestyle changes. You need to do something you'll be able to stick with for your whole life if you want to keep the results! Small portions, move as much as you can (like walking or biking to school, for example), and eat slowly -- savor every bite! Also, eat until you don't feel hungry anymore, not until you're stuffed. Then you will be hungry for the next meal, but you won't have that awful stuffed, tired feeling that comes after eating a lot (think Thanksgiving). As for the exercise, don't try to push yourself to do something you can't. For example, if you can't go to the gym for an hour every day, don't. Just move more than you do currently. If you normally drive to school, walk instead, and you'll immediately start feeling better and losing weight. And it will give you energy to want to move more. If you're far from school, walk the dog,... (view more)Don't go on a diet. Make little lifestyle changes. Just make tiny little tweaks, and stick with them. Don't try to lose more than about two pounds a week. If you make your goal to be healthy instead of to be thin, you'll lose weight as a side effect, but not so much or so quickly that it is unhealthy. (view less)

Here's the thing Jeanie - no matter how much you want to, you CANNOT constantly compare yourself to your friends/others around you. If you do that, you are never going to be happy with who you are (spoken from tons of personal experience). You need to do what you feel is right for you and your body, not what you 'think' you should look like, etc. Believe me, I get it. I get being dissatisfied with your body when everyone around you seems to be stick thin. Eventually though, in order for you to grow into a young woman with a healthy self-esteem, you're going to need to learn to be happy with who YOU are, EXACTLY as you are. Now, I'm not saying that if you feel unhappy with your body weight you should stay there just because 'that's who you are'. If you truly believe that you could lead a healthier, happier life by losing a few pounds, then by all means, do it, but make sure you do it... There is nothing worse for your body then the constant, on/off-again 'crash dieting'. You need to make a choice to change your eating and exercise habits, such as, no eating after a certain time of night, eating 3 well-balanced meals, going for a walk 2-3x a week, etc. This way, you'll be losing weight in the right way. If you're serious about wanting to lose weight (in a healthy way), ask your parents if you can make an appointment with your doctor or a dietician who can show you what foods are most beneficial for your body. Whatever you do, don't ever look down on yourself for being 'different' from your friends - you have just as much going for you as they do =D. Good luck!!!! (view less)

try cutting back on what you eat. if you usually have 4 or 5 slices of pizza, have 2 or 3... if you usually have 2 bowls of cereal in the morning, have 1. try it for a week and you'd be surprised how much weight you can lose. hope i helped

The only thing that kinda worked was weight watchers. For a couple months. Then I started getting un-motivated and I gained 20 pounds. I've gained 20 more pounds since then and I'm so embarrassed. None of my friends are fat, and I just feel so out of the circle when I'm with them. They've all had boyfriends and such, and no guy has ever looked at me in that way. My dad made me join weight watchers again and I lost 4 pounds. But then again I got un-motivated and gained 6. I don't know what to do anymore. I'm just eating eating eating ALL the time and I don't know how to motivate myself to stop. I dance 5 days a week for at least 2 hours a day, and I go to the gym a lot. So I know it isn't lack of exercize. Its the food. Please, if you have and advice for me, reply to this message. I need all the help I can get.

Keep with it!! Think about summer. Its about 4 months away, and you want to be able to wear cute clothes and show off a nice body don't you! When ever I feel like eating some crappy food, I think of summer...bathing suits, tank tops, shorts. I want to look GOOD when summer rolls around. STICK WITH IT. Eat smaller portions drink water, and limit carbs/fat/sugar. YOU CAN DO IT

theres probably some kind of premade salads, or fruit salads, yogurts, fruits, cheese and crackers, nutrigrain bars, frozen dinners (if you have a microwave) just take a minute to browse around the store. stay away from the middle aisles because thats where all the junk is. around the perimeter is where the dairy, meat and fruits and veggies are. good luck

I'm way too fat and I can't stand how it feels on my body. When I sit down my pants are TOO tight. My stomach is really fat and it rolls up and feels like someone's pushing on it when I'm sitting down. It's HARD to breathe like that. When I stand up it takes some pressure off my stomach but then it's SO heavy, my back HURTS and I get tired fast. This MOUNTAIN of fat is like torture because it's TOO heavy and it's ALWAYS there even when I NEED a break! I know I should lose weight but that takes a LONG time! What can I do to feel better until then???

hey Amanda, You should start off my eating better ( if you don't already ). Like more veggies everyday, healthy snacks after supper if you're hungry.. lots of water, no more sugary drinks ( crystal light's just as awesome as juice) and eat in small portions. Just make sure when you eat, you're not so full that you can barely move ( believe me, i've been there my whole life haha) just eat enough to feel comfortable, and teach yourself how to do it by starting off. do this a week and you'll already start to feel better. If you wanna help yourself, now's the time right? after you start to feel better and maybe lose 10 pounds ( which you can do in about 2-3 weeks if you're 150lbs overweight like you say) , then you can start excersising a bit. do excersises that you're comfortable with doing though. It doesn't take as long as you think. You'll lose ten pounds and feel and look better, then 10 pounds more, then on and on. Don't look at the big picture. It pays off! It's better to lose it slowly than not lose at all right?

something that really worked for me, was only eat when you are hungry, if you're full, don't finish your plate because that's just a heap of extra calories you don't need. listen to your body. it's also fact that sometimes when we think we're hungry, we're actually thirsty, so drink a glass of water, wait 10 minutes and if you're stomach is still growling, eat something (healthy!) and stop when you are satisfied. if the growling goes away, you were just thirsty!. buy crystal light if you don't like water, but try and drink at least 2 glasses of pure water a day, it makes your skin really nice :) good luck hun

Aw it feels inpsiring to be an inspiration :) Ok I'll tell you how I lost what I lost (although I could've lost more. I messed up but now I'm getting back on track) Fad diets are too complicated in my opinion so try to ignore those unless you have the discipline to stick with it all the way through. Just do what WORKS for you. Try to get lots of aerobic exercise in and eat in small portions. I eat small meals every 3 hours and I don't eat anything after 7:30 pm. Eating every 3 hours will boost up your metabolism which will help you lose weight faster. Drink LOTS of water and substitute coke with diet coke (if you need soda). Treat yourself once in a while but remember, alwayss small amounts. If you're craving chips or something, don't eat directly from the bag. Place a handful in a bowl. If you're craving chocolate, try to eat dark chocolate instead. Eat a variety of fruits, vegtables, meat, etc to balance out your meals and nutrition. When cooking with oil, try to use extra virgin olive oil instead. Don't eat three hours before going to bed (that's why my cutt off time is 7:30). Walk after your meals for better digestion. Be active, if you're watching TV, try to break out some squats or pushups during commercials. Chew all of your food and eat slowly, be concious of what's going in your mouth. Don't rush with your meals. Plan your meals beforehand. Create your own healthy recipes, it's fun! ALWAYS eat breakfast, studies say that people who don't eat breakfast weigh MORE than people who do. It's the first meal of the day and it gives you the energy you need. Don't judge yourself, don't say you're ugly, fat, monsterous or worthless. Think positive and positive things will happen. What I did was I avoided all white foods (rice, bread, etc) and I substituted it with whole wheat foods. Instead of drinking whole milk, drink 2% (I can't drink skim, it tastes like water). I ate right and I danced a lot. I don't know how to dance lol but the main thing about dancing is moving your body and the more you more your body the more calories you burn so what I did was a I burned a CD filled with like 20 of my favorite songs, fast and slow and I locked myself in my room and danced like crazy with the CD on until it ended (which was about an hour or more). It's fun and by the time the CD stopped, I was sweating. Don't be obsessed with the scale (I was in the beginning) because remember that losing weight is a gradual process. It'll take time and it sucks but in the end...you'll know that it's all worth it :) Before doing all of this. You must make the decision to change your life, to change it for the better and be healthy. Once you make the decision, NO one can stop you. I've told you all that I know, lol and I wish you the best...don't worry you'll do fine =) Good Luck!!! (view less)

Flat front styles instantly tuck you in. Less fabric means less bulk. * Dark stretch jeans are comfortable and forgiving. Make sure you're wearing your correct size by checking the side seams. They should run in a straight line. A curving, crooked seam indicates that you need a different size or style. * Wear control top pantyhose even under pants and for the summer (when wearing pants) cut the legs off of them so it won't be so hot * Take those ace bandage like things and wrap it around your stamich (but not so tight it hurts, also don't wear pantyhose or cincher over it I learned it hurts bad) * Wear a cincher (I think that's what there called, they look like a tube top but tighter and you where it around your stomach and/or rear) * Wear platfarms/heels, taller you are the thinner you'll look * Braclets can sometimes make your wrist look thinner also chokers can sometimes make your neck look thinner too * Stand/sit straight it can make you look 10 pounds less * Scrub off in the shower, you normally have a pound of dirt/dead skin on you. * watch the salt, it can make you contain water which will make you look a few pounds heavier (view less)

Hey all. I used to be a fat 'un, just thought i'd share me story. At 15 I weighed 15 stone, so thats about 210lbs. By 17 i was down to 10 n' 1/2 (so 147ish), and i'm still at that. Basically what i did was moved more and ate less. Lol, obviously thats a bit general. Pick a sport/exercise your good at and keep going with it. I could skip, we had a rope in the garden - there we go, daily workout. Food wise, i cut out the crap - crisps, choc, excess sugar on cereal etc. I cooked all my own meals and learnt how to make healthier snacks etc. Just exercising alone isn't enough. Try and get ya family in on it too or a buddy for support. The biggest factor is you have to WANT to do it. Stick with it. If people are giving you grief for being a chunker, dont turn to food, stick to your regime. Likewise, dont go too extreme on the health kick (sicking up/no eating etc). Lol! Thats pretty much it, I need to get ready to go to the bummers club. Tata!!

Hi Joe, I used to have a weight problem and I took small steps and it made a big difference. I lost 50 pounds in 6 months! Sugary drinks were a lot of my problem (sodas and juice) - I switched to diet coke and just water (no apple juice or oj). I started walking more - just 20 minutes or so with my walkman and it wasn't even hard! Good luck -- don't worry, you aren't alone!!

Well I would have to know how much you want to loose! but all I can say is i lost weight by playing sports and walking but mostly running and you can always get a friend to do the same with you! I weigh 105 now but remember i never use to weigh that much i will tell u this it's hard work but it pays off all u have to do i work at it! you can do it. i would also say do eat much for lunch and supper eat but not a whole lot like cut what u normally eat in half that will also help and watch the fatty foods you eat cuz that doesn't help when your trying to loose weight!if u work hard it will pay off! but u just have to try it out don't go on a diet it doesn't work just lots of nutrition an working out works don't exspect a big change right away it will come over time but trust me u should see changes within a mounth that is if u work out every day.
