I have some time before I go to work, so I decided I'd tell you about my past habits before I met some helpful people along the way. I used to eat a small, unhealthy breakfast consisting of white bread and sweets. Then, I 'd pig out for lunch and have 2 or more pieces of cake for dessert. Then, half an hour before dinner, I'd eat 7 or 8 cookies hoping I'd spoil my appetite so I don't have to eat so much. Well, in reality, the cookies are higher in calorie than dinner itself. It didn't work, of course, and I ate a huge dinner and didn't stop until my stomach hurt. I felt like crap afterward, so I thought, "well since I screwed up today, I might as well eat more". So before bedtime EVERY NIGHT, I'd eat several donuts or half a box of Pot of Gold chocolates or a peanut butter sandwich. I couldn't sleep at night because my heart was beating so fast and my stomach hurt so much.... NOW, I eat whole-wheat bread and fruit for breakfast, sushi or sandwich for lunch, meat and veggies with rice for dinner and fruits for snacks. I also do 50 crunches before bedtime. I treat myself occasionally, but I don't eat until it hurts. I sleep better now and I feel more in control of myself. Dieting is really a change in lifestyle more than anything. My two biggest reasons for losing weight is trying to escape diseases such as diabetes and being able to do things i want to do without feeling like i'm out of breath.

Start: 203 lb, Today: 177 lb - Hey you guys. I haven't posted in months, but now I have some news. Good news and bad news. Less than one month ago, I had totaled up to 203 lbs and I wasn't on any kind of diet. Until I found out I have type 2 diabetes. I never even knew you could get it from being overweight until I was diagnosed. But since then, I've lost 26 lbs because my sugar intake has to be very low. I'm not exactly proud of my weight loss. This is a life-long disease. It will never go away and I hope you guys don't fall into the same hole that I fell into. I'm not trying to scare anyone, but this is a good reason to start losing weight now before you end up where I am.

type 2 diabetes can be reversed through healthy eating and exercise, so dont think of it as a life long disease because it can be beaten, seriously.

TO ALL WHO ARE ON MY WEIGHT LOSS LIST: HERE ARE SOME TIPS TO ALL OF YOU. WALKING BURNS MORE BELLY FAT. RUNNING HOWEVER TAKES A LONG TIME TO BURN BELLY FAT. SO ALL OF YOU NEED TO START A WALKING TREND AND YOUR DESIRED TIME. ADD A MINUTE ON EVERY DAY. DRINK WATER AND OR FRUIT JUICE TO FILL YOU UP SO NOT AS MUCH FOOD IS NEEDED. DO THIS AND TELL ME YOUR LATEST STATS IN 2 WEEKS.

I have to clear up this little tif here. Walking, jogging or running the SAME DISTANCE burns the same amount of calories. Both are capable of burning fat however walking better as it is easier to keep your heart elevated for longer than 30 minutes through brisk walking. Running for more than 30 minutes is too hard on the body and stenuous on the joints. Walking does not burn the most "belly fat". When we lose weight we lose off all areas of the body, however most people tend to store more weight in the stomach which is why it always appears to be the area you lose from first.

Ht. 6'3", Today: 215 lb (BMI %tile: 93) - I used to be 6'2" 270. and now im 6'3", 215. it may not sound like much but i look at my self in the mirror and i got big jelly rolls and flabby arms. I tried the diet i did over the summer to lose weight, but its hard to keep going for more than a week. I tried working out for 3 months but saw no results. so mainly what im getting at is i need the fastest way to lose weight imaginable, ill do anything i can to get lean( even going anerexic.) so if anyone has an extreme way to lose weight as fast as possible, plz let me know. thanks.

Look matt, you dont want to be anorexic. It is a mental disease which haunts people their entire lives. Also, if you starve yourself or try to lose weight quickly, you with become a fat blob in the end. If your losing more than 2 lbs a week it means your body is feasting on itself for food by turning your muscles into energy. The body can only metabolise 2 lbs of fat a week. So to lose any more than that would be losing muscle and you lose tone and muscle burns more calories than fat so we dont want that. Seriously, you have come so far dont wreck it now. Just take this REALISTICALLY. You are young and have the rest of your life to live! If you just focus on a healthier lifestyle for the next six months you will be fine! Good luck and dont do anything stupid.

Hey Katie, this is the time when you should be extra careful about what you eat. You should exercise by walking daily. Make sure you drink LOTS of water, your baby needs this. Make sure you take prenatal vitamins, and be sure to see your doctor regularly. It gets harder to lose fat if you keep adding it on with pregnancy fat. good luck to you.

Matt, I know that it doesn't feel good to be fat because I weigh 302, I think we think way too much about losing weight, instead of being healthy. Why don't you try some kind of activity that you like doing like swimming or riding a bike (so that it doesn't feel like exercise) and just try to eat healtier. I always have to tell myself that the food isn't going anywhere, especially during holidays. Eat a balance of meat, veggies, and carbs. And don't cheat yourself! If you want a piece of pie, then have one. Think healthy, not thin!

Listen up everybody! My mom told me something that she saw yesterday that she saw on the news. There were some athletes that were really talented at what they did. They starved themselves, and now they have curvature of the spin. Their bodies used their spines to get some energy. Can you imagine having osteoporosis at twenty-something? Don't do it. Eat right and exercise. Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =) GOD BLESS!!! =)

That is right... when you starve your body turns to itself for fuel. So when it uses up your fat it turns to muscle, organs, ect anything it can to survive. That is why you all have to be VERY careful how hard you diet.
