You probably ate because of a few reasons. You were thirsty for water (we constantly mistake dehydration for hunger) or you were bored or you were watching TV. (I still have that problem, it feels good to eat and watch TV, then before you know if you've eaten the whole box of whatever!

hey,
being 5'8 and 140-145 or whatever, you are perfectly healthy. You will find over the next few years, hopefully sooner than later, that you have so much more to offer the world than your weight...what you focus on is not what other people see--what other people see and appreciate are the smiles, the warmth you radiate, the authenticness of all your feelings--good and down, angry and elated--just try for me, for a couple of days to say to yourself "My body is created for this moment, I am created to live in this moment, my life is in this moment." Living in weight sucks, I've wasted my last 5 years there and I've lost a lot of friends and loved ones because I refused to look at myself the way the looked at me. Read Reviving Ophelia, by Mary Pipher--maybe you're too young, or lacking the perspective to appreciate it all now--but it will make things clearer as you go.

High School is great. It's also scarry. And whatever weight you are, if you think you'll be a great cheerleader, do it. But there will be A LOT of speculation. And that doesn't go away with the fat you burn. Being skinny doesn't make you popular. And many people are popular because they are mean. Try to focus on being a good student, eating healthy, exercising, having fun, and concentrate on where you will be once you're out of High School.

Be very, very wary of anything that claims this. Have tried umpteen of these such diets in the past - juice, cabbage soup, you name it. You do actually lose weight very quickly because you are losing water, but you do put it on again, very, very quickly. I sincerely hope I am wrong but I would be very, very cautious.

please don't give up.When I was a teenager,Iwas 125 , and could eat what ever I wanted and as much as I wanted. After I turned 20,that changed.I wasn't hanging out with my friends as often. Then before I knew it I had gained 20 lbs.About four years later and at my heavyest 205lbs.I deceiced to lose some weight. And I did.I got to 145.I stayed there for about five years.
Then I started to see-saw with my weight.Gain 40 ,lose 20, gain 30 and then lose some again. Then in March of 2000 Iwas back up to 193lbs.I was wearing 20's and 22,s.I didn't like myself very much. Here I was 37 years old.weighting 195.I knew the older Igot, the harder it would be.But I knew I had to lose weight.SO that March I started, Ihate to call it a diet, cause it wasn't really.I simpley ate less and did more.I like to work in my yards. When I'm out there I lose track of time. I'm busy and don't think of eatting.And... (view more)
