Ht. 5' 3", Wt. . - hi peole i'm am really.really sad as i write this,i asked my dad if i could try out for soccer and he said no because soccer is not a 'girls' sport.he says when he was younger he broke his ankle and it took two years to heal.(which honestly i don't believe)he told me to try out for something like gymnastics because is's not as rough. but i can hurt myself even worse by doing flips on a beam , right? i just wanted to get some exercise that i would enjoy.

Reply from Gabriella, Age 12 - 09/10/06 - IP#: 205.251.123.xxx no offence, but that is REALLY sexist . I have been playing soccer for 3 years and am so grateful i did. I prevented myself from gaining the 20 or 30 pounds i would have gained if i didn't join , and lost weight on top of that, and there is no better feeling than scoring a winning goal and having people cheer for you after you helped your team win. You should tell your dad that there is no such thing as a ''girl's sport'' and what damien said is a really good point ! I wish you the best of luck, and if you do end up joining soccer, have fun ! :)
Reply from Elizabeth, Age 13 - 09/10/06 - IP#: 70.230.160.xxx im sry but thats relly sexist. my bst friend plays soccer and is supr good. it is definately not a "boys" sport. there relly is no such thing. u should play it if you want to no matter what your dad says. gymastics is much much more dangerous than soccer. it is the most dangerous sport you czan play and ppl have died from flling wrong. tell your dad that. goo luck
