Ht. 5'5", Wt. 178 - I am so stupid! I can not believe I weigh this much!!! I've been completely blind to what's been happening to me... I've gained so much weight within the past year! Last year I was around 155-160. I never thought I would gain this much weight! This is extremely depressing. I don't know where else to turn. PLEASE HELP ME!

Reply from Isabella, Age 13 - 11/22/06 - IP#: 72.94.76.xxx Julia, I'm here to help. Last year, in Feb. of 2006 I was 5 4" and 186lbs. NOw I am 5 %" and 168lbs. I know it's depressing and shameful, but YOU WILL LOOSE WEIGHT AND BE HAPPY! FIrst, be proud for confronting the fact that you're overweight. :0) Now, go to a docotor or school nurse, etc. and ask how much you should wiegh (based on body type, genes, height, ertc.) to find your goal weight. NOw, there are a few siple things you need to rmemeber right away, THen it will become like a piece of cake! SO first, rmember that you're slowly going to change your eating habits permamntly, you aren't going to "diet" or fad diet to loose weight. Next, cut out soda. SOunds small and may be hard, but it's the first and best step ever! Second, try not to eat a lot of sugary/salty foods. Insetad of sugar OR artitificsl sweetners. go for stevia extract, all-natural and caloire- free. ALthough, if you have to choose between artifical sweetners and suagr, stick to a bit of real sugar! Trust me...I know what I'm talking about. Now, you will need to start exercising like once a week. SDO 10-15 min of dancing, a vidoe tape, pilates, etc. Gradually build up to 20-40min 2-3 times aweek. Your eating should be covered in a few simple rules.Sweets ARE NOT FORBIDDEN, but only eat them 2-3 times a week. Make sure you get 3 servings of lowfat of fat-free dairy every day (milk helps you stay slim!), 1-3 veggies, 1-3 fruits, whole grians, lean meats/fish/nuts, and WATER! Also, only have one portion at meals. SNacking can be good and healthy in between meals to keep you're energy up. ALWAYS EAT BREAKFAST! NEVER SKIP MEALS! DON"T USE ANY KIND OF PILLS EVEN "NATURAL" "HERB" OR "ORGANIC"! Good luck. If you need help, messgae me on these boards, I'm on like twice a day.
