Reply from Dave, Age 16 - 06/16/03 - IP#: 68.186.227.xxx Hey, I have a little information but not much... First get her on some kind of small diet to help her to begin loosing weight. Weight loss is a process, and this process has to be done right or else something wrong will happen... Did you get her to a good doctor? Did they give you some type of medication for her. If not you can go on google.com, and type in weight loss. However you have to get doing some type of activity. I suggest if your family has the room for one, to get a trampoline. These are soo much fun for little kids, and they donot even know that they are loosing weight,or getting excercise. Also NO FAST FOOD AT ALL!!! This extremely un-healthy... Cook her a normal meal with meat, vegetables, and blue 1/2 fat milk. If she gets hungry during the day provide cereal... I hope that I was of some help to you and your family, best wishes, and good luck,Dave

Reply from Ysabel, Age 25 - 05/26/02 - IP#: 65.83.195.xxx She definitely needs to drink water, no soda (pop)!!! Have she seen a "Nutrionist"? This is a doctor that helps with weight control. If not, your parent may want to consider this. Salads are alway great (with fat-free dressing). She may also want to try non-butter popcorn instead of sandwichs and icecream (or other fatty foods) for snack. Encourage your little sister to stay ACTIVE. Liks helping with the lawn or even walk with her up and down the block. Don't give kid, help her and encourage her. Don't give up on her! -Ysabel ysabel76@yahoo.com

Reply from Ben, Age 15 - 03/28/02 - IP#: 24.67.209.xxx Now, see, whatya gotta do, see, is you gotta make it a game, kids like games, challenge her, no little sibling will want their older sibling to do better, so make a challenge, tell her you can do more jumping jacks then her (do 10 or some number you know she can beat) let her win and then do it as often as possible, keep her moving, keep it changing, and eat healthy stuff and act like it tastes good, some of it doesnt though, but try and find stuff that does, little sis will copy big sis any day, kids are like that.

Reply from estee, Age 11 - 10/23/01 - IP#: 24.130.18.xxx hi, i know how it feels to be overweight and picked on at 9. one way to help her is not juging what she eats but setting an example. make excersis look cool. when i was 9 i was overweight and i saw my sister play high school basketball. i tryed to play but i would get out of breath easily. she let me practice with her. when she went to collage i still wanted to play. i started a team and lost 15 pounds.

Reply from adi, Age 15 - 09/11/01 - IP#: 203.54.158.xxx heya, one of the most important things that u can do is encourage tem to do stuff with u.... ride a bike, go rollerblading. I was seriously overweight when i was very young too but by playing outside all the time instead of inside i lost the weight. in fact i weigh the same now as i did when i was 10 years old 170 pounds, but now i am 6 feet tall
Reply from Robby, Age 13 - 09/10/01 - IP#: 205.188.199.xxx If it's really that bad, and her doctor said so, I would cut out almost all of her snacks. When a person gets that big, it's really not that hard to loose weight.
Reply from allisa, Age 12 - 09/01/01 - IP#: 65.6.88.xxx i guess the 1/2 diet kinda works. but i woudn't get hopes too high for it. i chew gum. i lost 4 lb in 3 days with it. of cores u eat reguly. with 3 meals. but no 2nds. and no snacks, chewing gum helps
Reply from Liz, Age 14 - 08/27/01 - IP#: 63.61.187.xxx Now listen Hun, In order for you to help your sister, you can't be talkin' bout when she's gone! you have to have confidence and you have to believe that you (and your sister) can do this. If you think needs to go on a diet, than you should go on it with her. It'll make her feel better that your both not eating bad foods. You can try the 1/2 diet, cut everything your served in half, trust me it works. John Travolta lost 40 pounds on the 1/2 diet. Buy an exercise video and goof around together, or dance to some music. If you want more helpful hints, you can email me moon_dancer96@yahoo.com Good Luck ~ Liz
