And your doing the right thing because if you friend is so over weight it could become a serious health concern. Try talking to her, help her pick a diet that is good for her. Go running or exercise together. Give her confidence and the power to loose the weight. Good Luck Evanne

I know that when I was younger I used to ask my friends for help, unfortunatly they never really could becuase I guess they just didn't know what to do but I think the first thing you need to do it tell her that your concerned about her weight. Don't tell her that shes too fat or that she needs to lose a ton of weight becuase that will hurt her feelings and if shes an emtional eater then that could result in more eating which won't improve the situation. Just say something like "____ (her name) I'm really worried about you. It seems like your gaining alot of weight recently and I don't care about what you look like but I want you to be healthy. If you want me to help you lose some weight then I will" or something similar. Some things you could do to help her is make sure you don't buy any extra junk food when she sleeps over and do things that are active, like go on a walk or bike ride. Also don't go places that are focused on eating, like me and my friends meet at a Coffee Shop in town and I always end up dumping sugar and cream into my coffee, so don't meet at an ice cream place or coffee place. And if you get snacks at certain places you go like the movies then try to get something a little on the healthier side like diet pop or unbuttered pop corn. The main reason I'm having problems right now with losing weight is becaue I'm constantly surrounded by people eating, my friends, my family, people at school...if you can help get rid of some of those temptations then she'll have an easier time losing weight. I hope this helps. *ray*ray*

Reply from alysaa, Age 9 - 04/07/04 - IP#: 152.163.252.xxx first of all.. you shouldn't not be her friend just because she Is over weight. Tell Her that she should join a sport at school and don't ever tell her she is fat.that will hurt her very badly. Don't tell her to go on a diet either..just try to keep her busy and tell her that to be a healthy weight she should just eat normaly but stay active and don't over eat. Really..If she goes on a diet she will be on a diet roller coaster and probably gain more weight. I hope I helped.. but you need to understand and grow up..except the fact that she is beautiful no matter what size she is and focus on the good things about the friendship. Your not a good friend if you ignore her because she's heavy
