Ht. 5'4, Wt. S.145 C.135 G115 - does riding horses count as a an excercise i rode for an hour adnhis pace was at a medium trot plus i didnt use the stirrups

no, riding horses isn't really a workout because you're not doing the work, the horse is. if you walk with your horse that can be excercise but siting on it is not.

Yes, riding horses IS considered exercsising! I believe english is a bit more of a workout than western, but either way you are still burning calories. Especially by doing thisngs like trotting and posting without your stirrups, cantering, jumping(if riding english), and riding bare back

lizzy, you don't know what your talking about.. riding horses burns over 200 calories an hour.. so don't say it doesn't when it does.

Lizzy, have you ever riden a horse on a professional level? It takes muscles and try posting without the stirrups . . and riding bear back. I think its quite a workout. There really is alot to riding horses, take it from me.
