Ht. 5' 4", Wt. 172 - Kaylee running is just faster and you have a faster recovery if you run for a short period of time rather than walk for a long time. So mo running doesn't burn more calories it just gets you from point a to point b faster. -Allie
Reply from Julie, Age 17 - 06/20/06 - IP#: 4.242.171.xxx You are right, Kaylee. Running is better than walking, generally. However, if you are going slower than 9 miles an hour, it's about the same. If you are faster, you will burn more running. It also is better for your heart, and general health. For me, personally, walking doesn't raise my heart rate that much, and to get a good workout, your heartrate should be elevated, but it does depend on your fitness level. Walking is better than nothing, but i would also stick with the running.
