Ht. 5'2, Wt. 159 - Quick question: Why do some people say that bananas are not good for you because they're fattening?......I thought they were good for you since they are a fruit and full of potassium.

I think a lot of people prefer other fruits because bananas have slightly more calories (about 120, as opposed to 80 for an apple or 70 for an orange), more sugar, and don't have the fiber, which contributes to feeling full. Bananas are still good for you, but you should definitely eat other fruits as well.

I LOVE bananas and honestly if you like bananas eat them!! Even if it's more that one a day I mean it had to be better to get the sugar you crave from a banana than getting it from a tube of icecream, a box of cookies, and some pie!! I mean come on there good for you!! I eat them cuz they are sweet and packed full of good things. They are the one item I eat every day at least 1 a day!! I'm not sure if my weight is going down but I'm getting more toned so they can't be that bad for ya!!

Bananas do have a lot of sugar, but they are a fruit. Basically, you can have bananas but in moderation. Don't eat like three bananas a day, maybe just one a day.

I only eat bananas occasionally because one medium sized banana has 14.4 grams of sugar and 27 carbs! I do like them with Cheerios, though.

they are good for yopu or people wouldnt put them in weight loss shakes or eat them if theyre on a diet so if u like them keep eating them because they are full of nutrition (like u said potassium) and its a fruit.
