Ht. 5'0'', Wt. 150 - I just found this great sight that tells you how many lesss calories to eat to lose weight, including how much you burn exercising: How many calories do people need to eat?
That’s the million-dollar question, isn’t it? You’re going to hate me when I say that it depends. There are three factors involved:Your weight loss goals, your Basal Metabolic Rate (the number of calories your body burns via normal, everyday functions), and how much exercise you get. First, calculate your BMR. Next, consider how much activity you get. Add the calories you burn through activity and exercise for one day to your BMR. This is your baseline for daily calorie needs. To lose 1 pound per week (if that’s your goal), you’d simply eat 500 calories less than this number each day. Whatever your baseline is, more than 1,000 calories per day below that (resulting in 2 pounds lost per week) is not a good idea. Your body needs enough nutrition and energy to deal with whatever exercise level you choose. At bare minimum, no matter what, I strongly urge people to not drop below 1,200 calories daily. Any lower than that and starvation mode - or worse - will almost always kick in.
---- So to lose 1 lb a week for me, I have to eat 1082 calories a day. To lose 2lbs, 582...although I didn't factor in about how much a I burn each day, so add 300 to both those numbers. Everyones starvation mode is different based on age, height, weight, etc. The BMR calculator sight is : http://sparkpeople.com/resource/nutrition_articles.asp?id=387
Hope this helps some people!

Its not a BMI site, its a BMR...to see if you are going below the starvation mode for your bodies calorie needs

I don't trust a lot of sites on line that tell BMI and thinks like that. I persanly thin to really know how much your body needs and how much you need to burn and how fast you burn calories you actually need to know all your stats and muscle mass. It all makes a huge differance. I mean someone that is 130 lbs and all muscle is not going to have a BMI of 23 and someone that never works out and is 130 lbs isn't going ot have a BMI of 23. If you really wanns know those things you need to see a docter for a physical. I'm going and getting on next month. Not that sites don't have good information about things but there average of ppl. NO ones the same. ANd if this seemed mean in any way it's not ment to be it's just what I believe to be the truth. so plz don't take it as an attack at how you are going about weight loss.
