Ht. 5'6", Wt. 260lb - I`ve been obese sinse I was 5!I can`t even run any more without my knees giving out.I`m made fun of at school constantly ,I have an eatting disorder,and even my own mother makes fun of me!And I want to exrcize ,but I just can`t except for weight lifting(in the arms).I`m desperate!

Reply from Mikayla, Age 15 - 07/03/06 - IP#: 24.18.50.xxx I think you need to start with just eating healthy foods, doing your weight lifting (gradually increasing the weight) and talking to a counselor. The best advice diet wise I can give you is to eat organic brands of your favorite foods and cutting your calories down. I know that cutting calories seems like you have to be hungry all the time, but it doesnt necessarily mean that. you have to watch portion control, but if you eat a little bit all day you wont get hungry or feel that you really are depriving yourself.

Eating is just my problem...lol...Yeah, swimming's easy on the joints...or try water aerobics. Its great. There's exercise for everyone out there...you just have to look. Or what about a rowing machine? They have them in most gyms.
