Ht. 5"4, Wt. 245 - Hey i'm 17 years old and i'm considered "extremely obese". I'm about 5"4 and weigh about 245 pounds. I don't know what to do because in order to be healthy i would need to lose atleast 100 pounds. I ruined my body and stretched out my skin and now have a lot of stretch marks. Also, i'm extremely depressed. I feel like even if i lost the weight my body couldn't be fixed. This weight is holding me back from being who i want to be. It's at the point where i hate to look in the mirror. Is there any advice anyone can give me? My doctor put me on atkins but as soon as i stopped i gained all the weight back. I'm not really a meat eater either. Please help, i'm desperate! Thanks

my suggestion is not to do that atkins or nutrisystem. nothing the best way to lose weight is by exercising and eating well. I shouldn't be the one to talk i hate to workout and i hate to watch what i eat. but you have to have the will-power to tell yourself. "i dont like who i am and i need to stop feeling sorry for myself and do something about it" And i plan on doing the same. I am accually going to join a gym and get a personal trainer ( not expensive at this gym) and the good thing about having a personal trainer is they target the parts of your body you want and need to fix. I know its hard but its worth the try. Good luck

YOu don't need your stomach stapled!! You need to get healthy. If your determaned you can lose any amount of weight. I mean is the 5 *incert favorite food here* really worth not being able to enjoy being in your own skin?? I mean if you arn't happy it's up to you to change. Diet pills get adictive and you have to take more and more to have them help you if they help you at all!! What you need to do is follow the advice in the other replys. It may seem hard at first but it's not hard and it's 400% worth it to be healthy and active to lose the weight!! You can do it!!

Sounds like you could use some help. All you've got to do is think about your life, and what things you can do healthier. Do you take the elevator? Never take the elevator agan, take the stairs. What do you do during the day? Do you watch tv and get online a lot? Well find other things to do. Do you drink a lot of drinks that aren't water? Cut most of them out of your diet. 5 food to try to NEVER eat again- donuts, butter, mayonaise, fries, soda. Good luck.

I would suggest that you get a new doctor, or at least a second opinion. The Atkins diet is very controversal, and a lot of people agree its not very healthy, and not very realistic for long term weight loss, as you found out. Go to a real dietician, who actually knows what they are talking about, and see what they suggest.
