Ht. 5'8.5, Wt. 185 - I hope to really buckle down and lose some weight, anyways I was on this website and it said average people eat 2500 calories to maintain their weight. To go on a "diet" you should atleast take 500 calories off of that, so you eat 2000 calories a day. Everyday you can slowly decress the number of calories you eat, but no lower that 1200. If you drop it fast, you will lose the weight but regain it back. Anyways, I was thinking maybe drop down to 1600. I know that's a 900 calorie deficit, but I get full around 1300-1500 calories.

just because you drop it fast doesnt mean you'll gain it back if it was done in a healthy way. I lost 25 pounds in the first month and a half and I havent gained any. I've gained muscle weight, but not fat.

That makes since. It wouldnt' be true for everyone though. I happen to know I eat an average of 2000 calories a day and I mantain but thats only because I workout about 4 times every day and I workout hard. Like cross country and total body sculpt. if I didn't work out that hard I would maintain at about 1200 becuase I'm so short. I'm only 5'3"
