Ht. 5'8, Wt. 320 - hello everyone i have a big problem i am only 17 years old and i weight 320 pounds my goal weight is 150 that mean i have to lose 170 pounds i am entering my last year of high school and i feel terrible since high school has started i gained over 120 pounds i dont have many friends because of my overweight problem people look at me and say “ew look at her she's a pig†“watch out the giant is coming†“look at her wobble†when they say that i feel very hurt and sometime go into the bathroom and cry when the few friends that i do have go shopping i decline the invitation because i am over weight and wear a size 28 pants and a size 5XL shirt when all my friends are in a size 4 pants and a size small shirt i feel embarrassed when i have to go into plus size stores also with plus size stores the dont have many clothes that i like there really not the latest fashions so usually im stuck in some sweats and a t shirt my mom isn't very supportive of my over weight issue she calls me names and when she introduce me to people like her co workers and friends she says “look at her she's quadruple the size that i am†when she say that i really do feel hurt i dont like attending amusement parks because i am to heavy for the rides the weight limit on most rides are 250 pounds so i cant ride occasionally there are some rides that i can get on according to weight limit but the seat wont buckle when they tell me i have to get off i feel very embarrassed like i said before i am going into my senior year of high school and i do want to make friends i do want to attend homecoming and prom and not worry about what people will say to me and most importantly have a date besides that i do want to lose weight because i know about all the heath risk i have by being over weight i have tried many things i have tried exercising, measuring my food into portions, taking diet pills and excreta also play sports i do swim on a competitive swim team but i keep gaining weight not losing i do have a internet addiction to i tend to stay home and play on the internet as much as possible people have told me to try walking around the neighborhood but i get board and non of my friends want to walk with me i cant run when i run i lose my breath easily i start to wheeze and cough and my chest feel like its going to collapse can some one please tell me what to do thank you i would like to lose 170 pounds before December so approximately 35-40 pounds a month

You are obviously choosing the wrong foods, and portion DOES NOT matter and will not make you lose weight. Lesser food makes your metabolism go slow so it absorbs all that unhealthy fat you dont need. Good, you're playing sports, keep doing that. You dont need to run to lose weight. Now just walk..at your size you will burn as much calories as running so dont worry. So please, see a doctor. If your mom loves you and wants you to be skinnier, she will take you.

I mean no matter your weight it's always a touchy subject. I told her I didn't like her saying I was gaining and that it hurt me. She not only stopped saying things like that but she started letting me pick out lots of healthy foods when I go grocery shopping with her. My family really suports me being a fit and athletic young woman. Speek up!! Get help!! It seems inbarrasing to say you want help but it has to be less imbarrasing that being over weight.
Reply from alexandia, Age 14 - 08/03/06 - IP#: 72.150.68.xxx you don't need to pay your mother any mind she probely.jelous of you b/c when you loose that weight she will be even more jolous,and thats another reason you loose the weight for you and for you mother's lips to drop on the floor b/c i had lost 27ppounds and gained it back because people said i was fat so i gained the weight back.don't listen to what people say if it isn't postive like what your mother says iam with you all the way through p.s.all ive have to do now is loose 82pounds.good look and pray to god.thats the best way.

Just cut down your portions to something reasanable. Then start exerciseing. Even a walk or swim is good. Make small changes and you will lose the weight.
