Ht. 5'7, Wt. N:270 QG:240 UG:130 - Hey everyone! I have found a tasty alternative to the calorie loaded regular ice cream. Skinny Cow brand Ice Cream sandwhiches that are 98 percent fat free and 140 calories per sandwhich are so tasty if it wasn't labled low fat I wouldn't even know it lol. I think they are expensive or atleast where I found them. 6 sandwhiches for 5 dollars, but I think they are worth it for a low calorie treat or dessert :].

Reply from mae, Age 15 - 08/21/06 - IP#: 4.242.36.xxx Mikayla is right about partially hydrogenated vegetable oil, aka "trans fat" (transformed fat). . they take perfectly good soy bean oil or corn oil and mix it with acid which thickens it (hydrogenates it) so it gets like creamy and tastes good. . prob is that it sticks to ur arteries, clogges em up worse than anything. , i read that the FDA is even gonna require warning lables on foods with it in em. . clogged arteries == heart attacks, strokes, altzheimers (sp?) disease, high blood pressure, kidney failure.... kinda takes ur appetite away for stuff with it in it.
Reply from Julie, Age 17 - 08/21/06 - IP#: 4.242.171.xxx I gotta say, I agree with Mikayla. It's not all about losing pounds...or it shouldn't be at least. It's about being healthy, in general. And it's not that difficult, if you know where to look. Something I just read the other day, high fructose corn syrup, besides just being bad for you, makes it a lot harder for you to realize you are full, so if you eat the same product without hfcs, it should actually fill you up more. Give up the crap and the weight will melt off...or at least it has for me.
Reply from Kayla, Age 15 - 08/21/06 - IP#: 68.229.79.xxx Ahhhh.... Skinny Cows. The Skinny Cow brand has easily become one of my good friends over these years. High Fructose Corn Syrup or not, I personally melt over these (pun intended). While Mikayla has some good points about organic, it can become very pricey. Frankly if you can only go organic on certain things try meat. Organic lean meat is just better for you. No chemicals. Go Skinny Cow!!!
Reply from caitlyne, Age 15 - 08/21/06 - IP#: 206.47.27.xxx I have a post above thats pretty darn long, if you want to know how I've accomplished what I have feel free to read and comment. Not trying to start any drama either I realize it may have sounded that way but I totally agree with you on the fact that sometimes its soooo annoying to being hearing that especially when Mikayla is making the same comment to everyone. MIKAYLA: you are a sweetheart and we get the message about the fructose junk! Sorry

It's always good to know about the high fructose corn syrup and all that other crap but i'm not a health nut and it gets sooooo annoying sometimes. I still like Mikayla because her heart is in the right place and i'm not trying to start drama but I already know enough to lose weight..and congrats caitlyne on losing the weight..how did you do it?
Reply from caitlyne, Age 15 - 08/21/06 - IP#: 206.47.27.xxx SkinnyCow Icecream Sandwiches are delish! I've lost 15 pounds in 4 weeks and I've been eating 1 of them a day. so to mikayla... MORE FOR ME! If you really eat only organic and no corn syrup and other health nut choices why are you still overweight..?? ANYWAYS yeah just thought I would mention that :)
Reply from Mikayla, Age 16 - 08/21/06 - IP#: 24.18.50.xxx actually its easy to avoid...if you try. I eat soy ice cream from the organic aisle. it tastes quite good. And the problem wasnt really the corn syrups. The fact that it has trans fats in the hydrogenated form. Those are easy to avoid. Try different ice creams.
Reply from {{**JUELSZ**}} to Mikayla, Age 17 - 08/21/06 - IP#: 75.22.8.xxx Well...I know they have high fructose corn syrup and corn syurp in them..I avoid both of those ingredients all day. Isabella already established the fact that you can't avoid the ingredient forever. It doesn't bother me that the ice cream contains it for one time in my day. But thanks for the other info.
Reply from Mikayla, Age 16 - 08/21/06 - IP#: 24.18.50.xxx Skinny Cow has high fructose corn syrup, regular corn syrup, and partially hydrogenated soybean oil. Meaning the fact that they are low in calories completly pointless. I dont think Healthy Choice brand has those ingredients. I never looked, but they may be better.
