Tredmill= The ground is moving under you doing a lot of the work for you. Track=all your own work nothing being done for you. Your not only pushing off but your the one moveing yourself. I'm a Track and cross country runner. I can go about 20-30 minutes jogging on the track or cross country before I'm dead. I could Run on the tredmill at6 or 7 mph for an hour and not be as tired as running on the track makes me after just 20 minutes. Also you can deffently do it just practice actaully running, not running on the tredmil.

Hmmmm well one thing is you could be pacing yourself of the treadmill differently than when you're on the track. Another thing is that it's harder on a track because you have to take turns where the treadmill is one straight thing. Maybe it's colder in your basement because I know that when it's hot and Im running I can't breathe. I don't know if it's my asthma or everyone, but its harder to breathe running in the heat. Hope this helps!
