If you drink 2 to 4 liters a day, and don't drink anything else plus exercise then I think you should be fine. That problem usually happens with marathon runner when they're sweating and taking in too much water. I think you should be fine, if you drink when you're thirsty and don't force yourself to drink.

Reply from Shannon, Age 12 - 10/21/06 - IP#: 71.114.9.xxx i know i shouldn't even be on this bulletin board, but my science teacher said that there is a such thing as drinking too much water. she said it could mess up you blood flow and would cause you to gain more weight, and u could cause ur blood type to change which could hurt your body severely!
Reply from Julie, Age 17 - 10/21/06 - IP#: 67.136.154.xxx Ummm...yeah, I have no idea what Shannon is talking about with the changing the blood type...I know my teacher did, but that was because she had a blood transfusion when she had cancer...I really doubt drinking to much water will do that to you, it's a genetic thing, and water won't influence genetics. But anyway, the average body can handle about a gallon a day (about 4 liters), but it varies greatly, depending on activity level, size of body, etc. If you do drink too much, your body's salt levels will be diluted (which is bad) and I believe it's hard on the liver and/or kidney.

But also remember it depents a lot on your activity level. I persanally have to drink a ton of water becuase I fun and sweat 3 or so times a day.
