Reply from Claire, Age 17 - 11/30/06 - IP#: 24.215.156.xxx I've been through the exact samething. You just have to learn to ignore girls like that...it's a shame they can't be nice but that's just the way this skinny obsessed world is nowadays. Also, Congrats on losing 43 lbs! if you can't do that you can lose weigh more:) Remember don't have a need to lose weight to be pretty.....pretty should be last on your mind. It's your health that should be the reason! :) Ok now, Eat breakfast everyday! (a healthy breakfast, I eat Honey Nut Cheerios with 2% milk) and have healthy snacks through out the day and lunch and dinner. Walk after every meal (it aids digestion and speeds up the metabolism) Make sure you eat healthy foods and in moderation, eat small portion sizes and chew your food to bits! Drink 64 oz of water everyday and avoid all white foods (eat whole grains!) and foods high in bad fats and bad carbs. Also of course, exercise is key! it's like ying and yang...you can't have one without the other, you gotta have nutritious eating with exercise. You can't just eat right and lay on the couch and watch TV or you can't work out and eat Doritos. You gotta do both of them consistently to make it work! DON'T GIVE UP! because the people who give up always tend to say "It wasn't working for me.." well...it doesn't work because people give up so easily. If you stick with it, you will surely drop lbs left and right. Losing weight is a beautiful and gradual process...you have to give it time and the in the end it's all worth it and you don't want to go back to your bad habits, the eating healthy and working out tends to stick with you because you get used to it:) Good Luck, Jelli!!
Reply from erica, Age 16 - 11/29/06 - IP#: 68.97.191.xxx I know how you feel. I used to be very overweight and I lost 60 pounds in a year and then i started gaining it back and i gained back about 30 pounds and i knew that i couldn't let that happen again. i was so uncomfortable and i could feel that i was really getting out of shape again and i hated that feeling so i knew ihad to do something about it. You just have to eat a lot healthier. More veggies, and fruits and whole grains and lean meats. You should start walking about 30 minutes a day and maybe pull some quick exercises out of seventeen magazine [that's where i get mine...they have a new exercise in there every magazine, so i collect those-they're really easy and helpful] Good luck!
