Ht. 5'5", Start: 204 lb, Today: 183 lb, Goal: 140 lb - Ok guys,I know what it takes to lose weight...a lot of weight! Personally,those "miracle" diets do NOT work!Even though the scale says that you ARE losing weight on these stupid diets...yeah maybe you are losing weight on it...but that won't keep the weight off forever.Eventually,you will gain everything back within years.So avoid diets such as Atkins,South beach,Etc. So now that you know that,I will tell you all a little story on how my mother and sister lost weight. First thing you do : CUT OUT ALL JUNK FOOD (cookies,chips,bars,cake,pop,pastreys,Etc) Second thing you do : CUT OUT ALL TAKE OUT AND FAST FOOD (mcdonalds,burgerking,kfc,pizza,garlic fingers,Etc.) I know it's hard but TRUST ME,what I am telling you WILL make you lose a lot of weight! Now once you cut out those foods, eat 3 meals a day and a(1) snack,drinking water with EVERY meal. But don't drink TOO much water. So when I say 3 meals a day,try to eat normal meals but add some more salads in your diet along with some fruits and vegtables.This doesn't mean eating salads everyday because personally,I HATE SALADS LOL! Just eat normal meals and no greasy foods with water and for a snack have vanilla yogurt or something light.Now comes the exercising.Exercise everyday, or almost everyday. Go for a walk, go to the gym,jump rope...just do any exercise that gets your HEART PUMPING for 40-60 minutes. One other tip, try not to eat after about 8:00-8:30 PM. Remember to eat breakfast,try A PACKAGE(1) of Quaker Cookies'N'Cream Oatmeal(Only 120 calories and it's AWESOME!) So now that I told you all that, I will tell you this : after my mother(45) and my sister(16) changed their diets, my mother lost 60 lbs in a year and my sister lost 50 lbs in 6 months! I am telling you, I KNOW that what I told you to do up above WILL DEFINATLY WORK! You have to stick with it everyday and trust me,YOU WILL lose weight...a lot of weight! It isn't gonna just happen over night, you must follow every tip that I told you and you will notice in a month that you ARE losing weight. I lost 22 lbs by walking every day for an hour and i still ate mcdonalds because I didn't want to change my eating habbits like my mother and sister. But now I am going to change my eating habbits and lose weight.Wish me luck and good luck to all of you!!!!!!

as much as i agree with atkins and south beach not working i recnetly found out that Jenny Craig's really does work (my cousin lost 57 pounds and kept it off!) and i will hopefully join it soon. good luck to you and ur diet!

Just so you know the cutting out fast food thing doesn't really matter. Sure it's better for you not to eat that greasy food but it's not the fast food that makes you fat it's simply the CALORIES. So you just gotta work it into your daily calories. Plus, there are lots of healthy fast foods out there like salads and grilled chicken burgers and chicken fajita pockets and subway turkey or veggie delite subs. My favorite one is the lite meal at Taco Time- chicken taco & chicken chili & diet soda for 255 calories. YUM!

The best way to diet isn't to cut out everything you love...its about moderation. Allow yourself to have a cookie every once and a while. If you cut out ALL deserts then you are just going to end up with horrible cravings. Another thing...not all fast food restaurants need to be banned. i eat at Mcdonalds all the time. They have FABULOUS grilled chicken salads with amazing low-cal dressings. Their Parfaits are too DIE for and they have less than 200 calories in them(around 140ish) People just need to learn to make good choices...not ban everything from their diet.

actually it is better 2 eat 6-7 meals a day..but it is pretty impossible 4 me..nd i lost over 30 lbs in 3 1/2 months last yr nd kept it off nd i still eat some junk food..so that isn't the only way..i just count calories..it is pretty simple
