I'm going to take your words to heart and start eating healthy. Since I posted my last entry this morning, and after reading your responses, for the first time ever I had a serious talk with my parents about losing weight. My mom and dad said they were proud of my desision. My mom and I went to the grocery store and picked out some healthy foods that the entire family is going to start eating with me, my brother included. We threw out all the junk food in the house and then the entire family went on an hour long bike ride around the neighborhood. When we got home, my 14 year old brother helped me use his weight set and we did that for about an hour. For dinner my mom cooked some pretty good food. I dont know what it was, it seemed like some chicken with a bunch of salad like stuff around it. It was actually really filling and good. Best of all, it was low fat. So the moment of truth, I went to the Bathroom to weigh myself and I LOST 2 POUNDS SINCE THIS MORNING!!! THIS IS GREAT ITS MOTIVATED ME SO MUCH AND I CANT WAIT TO LOSE MORE. THANKS AGAIN FOR EVERYONES HELP.

Reply from Connors response to Nick, Age 15 - 06/26/07 - IP#: 71.51.65.xxx Wow you've lost 30 pounds, thats awesome. Keep going at it. Your going to do great. You started at almost the same weight I did, except you didnt gain any weight. Nick, do you have a myspace? Good Luck to you. We can do this!!
Reply from Nick replying to Connor, Age 14 - 06/26/07 - IP#: 76.184.207.xxx Connor..first i'm 5 and 1/2 foot tall. I've gone from 295 pounds, down to 260 pounds in the past 6 months. Now i know that sounds like slow progress, but sometimes getting the weight off takes time. I've reached points where i give up and re gain weight, but i just keep trying. Listen to the advice you're getting man. Try not to get too discouraged if it seems your weight loss isnt happening the way you want it too. It's great your family is helping, now don't give up Connor. YOUR weight loss mostly depends on YOU. You can do this if you believe in yourself. Even if it takes two or three years to slim down, keep going. And in the process we both will learn new eating habits, we will learn how healthy food can taste good and be filling. We will learn how being active is both healthy and fun. And what we learn will help us KEEP the fat off.Remember dude..YOU can DO THIS!!

Reply from Claire, Age 18 - 06/26/07 - IP#: 64.131.205.xxx That's great!!!!!!!! :) congrats and I'm so proud of your decision (lol I sound like a mom) but seriously, the first step is to make that decision...once you've made up your mind about losing weight, NO ONE can stop you! now you're inevitable Conner, and soon those 2 lbs will grow to 10 then to 20 and so on and so forth. Also, remember the first time or so you go on a diet the weight flunctuates so if you lose 2 or 3 lbs and tomorrow you've gained them back, DON'T be discouraged! just keep working as hard and they'll be off permanently. Good Luck and stay strong! :)
