Ht. 5'8", Start: 225 lb, Today: 185 lb, Goal: 170 lb - im at my wits end. no matter what i do i cant stop eating. havent gained any weight though. i feel like its freaking pointless and impossible because i could cut my calories in half and not lose a single pound, but i could also eat double and not gain a pound. im stuck. its driving me crazy. i think i need to make some kind of drastic change in my eating. like a special diet of some kind. like the south beach/atkins diet. except i wouldnt cut carbs out completely just cut back a lot. i dunno. have any of you been stuck at a plateau and tried some kind of diet that helped them get off of it??? please heelpp!

How is calorie deficit not real?
calories needed more than calories consumed/burned = calorie deficit
Its like the fundamental rule of losing weight, duh

calorie deficit isnt real. id suggest trying a new excercise routine. and you should write down everything you eat and how much you excercise. its important to pay attention because extra calories can sneak into your diet and sometimes you arent excercising as much as you think you are.

Hmmm the only thing i can think of is to not cut back on calories for a week or so but continue to eat healthily e.g. eat 2000cals per day of healthy food but dont eat so much that you'll gain any weight either. Then after a while of that cut your calories back down to say 1500 and you could also start exercising a couple times a week and u should lose weight bcos ur body will have gotten used to more calories and the new calorie deficit should make the pounds start dropping off again.

Ok the only way your going to lose weight is to exercise off more than you eat! EXERCISE EXERCISE EXERCISE! I put in an exercise day every week but still EVERYDAY i go on the tredmil for at least 20 minutes. I lose a lot of weight doing that. Good luck!
