Reply from misty pelletier, Age 28 - 04/17/08 - IP#: 75.128.239.xxx I'm a personal trainer, reson for this is because I was a overwieght child who got teased from 3rd-8th grade and decided to change my lifestyle I weighed 170 at the height of 5'4". I just ended up with cutting back on food and measuring everything from tsp-1cup serving sizes. Also walked or road bike and ran up and down my steps at home. It's not easy but, just keep thinking of how good you will feel when you get your goal weight. As a trainer you need to know muscle wieghs more than fat . I am now 28yrs old and have 2 kids of my own, also I weigh 135 lbs 15% body fat and have kept it off for 16 yrs because I never let my gaurd down meaning you will always have to workout daily and watch what you eat , but dont get carried away. I also have bad genetics my mom has always been overwieght and always will stay that way , that does not mean you can't fight this on your own.
Reply from Lucee, Age 17 - 04/17/08 - IP#: 78.148.160.xxx I understand what you mean, i live with my mum and my big sister and despite my efforts to lose weight they never make an effort to bring healthier foods into the house and like your mum, mum is big on the 'homecooking' which is usually not very healthy. Try and talk to your parents about how you are trying to lose weight and eat healthier and also express your concerns for their weight. You may be able to make them see that they should really be making an effort to eat healthier not just for you but for themselves too! If that doesnt work the only thing i can suggest is eating as healthy as you can throughout the day and then eating smaller portions of unhealthy dinners.
