From carla, Age 13 - 08/19/08 - IP#: 70.254.85.xxx Click here to reply Ht. 5'2", Start: 270 lb, Today: 270 lb (BMI %tile: 98), Goal: 170 lb - I know what ur thinking,her goal is shocking but i wanna belive that i can really do it.i told my self last summer that i was gonna loose weight to be normal for my new school and it didnt happen.now i said the same thing and im the same with 1 week of summer to go.My mom(which is doing this just so i can do it with someone),grandma(which is already skinny),my sister(which only thinks she's fat),and i (the fat one)are taking a magic pill.which probably will not work frm the look of things.i tried herbal life,alli,magic pills,taking a EXTRA gym class in middle school,starving my self,books,exersice and many many diets and nothing changes except the increasing numbers on my weight.And the scary thing is that im not big boned or have something bad that i cant control b/c i already checked with the dietrition and doctor since i was 7 yrs old.Can any one give me tips,books,diets,whatever that can and will work for me.PLEASE

As long as you work hard and stay determined..you can get there! don't take any pills, those things never work...if they did, nobody would be fat right now. Think about it. Anyway the best thing to do is cut back on your portion size of each meal and eat healthy...it doesn't mean you have to give up all the stuff you love, just eat in moderation. This means to eat a little bit of what you like and more of the things that are heathly for you. First thing you gotta work on is your metabolism...because if your metabolism is slow, then you're stuck. To speed up your metabolism, you should eat something small every 3 hours. I know you're thinking...the more you eat, the more weight you gain but this is wrong. The more you eat, the more weight you burn because your metabolism will speed up everytime you eat. Eat SMALL portions, eating every 3 hours means you have to control the portions you ate and don't eat a big plate of something but more like a handful. Drink plenty of water. Get some exercise in. You can start off small...just take a walk and build up from there. Also don't eat 3 hours before bedtime. Keep moving. If you're watching TV, do some crunches/pushups/lunges during a commercial break. Stay active and eat right and I guartantee you'll lose weight...there's no other way around it. Also stay away from white foods because those are just processed. Try to eat lots of whole grain products like whole wheat bread and brown rice and stuff. BELIEVE in yourself, set SMALL goals first. Like your first goal could be to get down to 250...then 200...then 190...you will be losing a lot if you just stay focused on your goals. I hope you take everything I told you and do it because I really think you can do whatever you put your mind too.
