From Jessica, Age 18 - 11/15/08 - IP#: 63.135.15.xxx Click here to reply Ht. 5'8", Start: 250 lb, Today: 240 lb (BMI %tile: 98), Goal: 195 lb - So my sister introduced me to this site, the bitch lost 60 lbs.. and now i'm trying to lose so i'm not the *fat* kid of the family.. haha. So i started about three weeks ago.. with a lot of excersise, well, about 35 minutes 6 nights a week, with the exceptional one cheat day a week. Lowered my calories from probably over 3000 a day to 1600, and sometimes a bit less, depending on the day and of course the mood, aaha.the first two weeks went by perfectly, was happier of course, from being more energetic.. and by the end of the third week we had to put my dog down, so that was horrible for me considering we had her for more than half of my life. Since then, i've been slowing down on the excersise to about 14-20 minutes a night, for three nights a week.. i find that once i start a diet and im happy.. i'll slow it down BECAUSE i'm happy and think, ok well.. i did good, so i can slow down. A week later the ten pounds i lost comes back on. I find it incredibly hard to actually stick to a diet. Any suggestions on how i can lose weight preferably fast enough, without such a strict diet? throughout the three weeks i lost about 7 pounds, i would like to lose 3-5 pounds a week.. while it's easy for me and i'm not at my plateau. Any ideas are appreciated.
Reply from Jessica, Age 18 - 12/08/08 - IP#: 63.135.21.xxx THANK YOU! i never believed the 1-2 pounds, and more is unhealthy. if you keep it off, then what's the big deal. And plus, it's healthy if i'm actually eating. It's like amanda said, because i'm just starting out i'll be losing more at first. thanks guys
Reply from Samantha, Age 17 - 11/21/08 - IP#: 69.123.117.xxx Ok, I met Jillian Michaels from the Biggest Loser and I asked her a bunch of questions, and she told me that it's not that 1-2 pounds a week is healthy, it's just realistic. If you're eating healthily and not too little in addition to excercising, then it's completely fine to lose more than 1-2 pounds a week.
Reply from Amanda, Age 19 - 11/21/08 - IP#: 63.135.27.xxx well since she's just starting, her weight is going to come off fast. but that is true what you said, how it isnt healthy. but since she has drastically changed her lifestyle, the weight is going to fall off for a little while then finally taper down to the recommended 1-2 pounds. your concern for others is appreciated though. thanks :P
Reply from Andrea, Age 17 - 11/20/08 - IP#: 76.31.209.xxx Oh and Jessica, to answer your question you posted: it is not healthy to lose that much weight in a week. one to two pounds a week is the maximum you should lose. I lost about forty pounds three years in about three months ago and have kept most of it off, but I don't recomend losing it that fast. If you lose it slowly you will be more likely to keep it off. You could try to keep a journal of what you eat and see what things you could cut down on. Good Luck!
Reply from Andrea, Age 17 - 11/20/08 - IP#: 76.31.209.xxx I hate when I do that because I get on people about spelling and grammar all the time..I guess I'm a hypocrite. Anyways, I'm sorry if you guys got offended by what I said, I have come to my senses and respect your opinions, but could you guys do me a favor and just try not to use the word?
Reply from Samantha, Age 17 - 11/20/08 - IP#: 69.123.117.xxx You spelled "layed" wrong. It's laid, just fyi.
Reply from Andrea, Age 17 - 11/19/08 - IP#: 76.31.209.xxx Some people are just too layed back. This gives men the right to call you that. My coach told me that there was this little freshman boy who called a girl that and she(my coach) didn't understand why he would do that. This is why, because it is made a joke.
Reply from Amanda, Age 19 - 11/18/08 - IP#: 63.135.26.xxx haha yeah i did actually. my sister and i joke around so i get that she wasnt being serious, and even if she was, i wouldnt have cared either way. some people are just too uptight
Reply from Ben, Age 13 - 11/18/08 - IP#: 66.79.92.xxx What's this? Don't teach 13 year olds to cuss? Uh, sorry. Words are Words. What something means to you probably doesn't mean to the other person. Stop obsessing over it. Her sister probably had a small giggle over it.
Reply from Samantha, Age 17 - 11/18/08 - IP#: 69.123.117.xxx Hahaha wow you're not a smart cookie, now are you Andrea?
Reply from Andrea, Age 17 - 11/17/08 - IP#: 76.31.209.xxx Duh, I could tell she was just kidding, read this article(please is implied) http://community.feministing.com/2008/09/on-the-use-of-the-word-bitch. html (minus the space before html) and http://www.westword.com/2006-07-27/news/bitch-bitch-bitch/ Even though it wasn't meant as an insult, the word is degrading to women, just like the n-word is degrading to African Americans.
Reply from Amanda, Age 19 - 11/17/08 - IP#: 70.49.231.xxx I'm her sister and she was just kidding obviously
Reply from Jessica, Age 18 - 11/17/08 - IP#: 63.135.20.xxx oh and thanks Taylor aswell. lol
Reply from Jessica, Age 18 - 11/17/08 - IP#: 63.135.20.xxx honestly, if you don't like it, keep it to yourself 'cause your opinion won't really teach me to NOT use that word. If you don't use it, good for you, learn English and re-read my post .. maybe then you'll understand the way i put it in there. thanks anyways mom. And thanks Sam. haha
Reply from Taylor, Age 15 - 11/17/08 - IP#: 75.66.64.xxx And I hate how some people obsess about it. Obsessing about someone using it is annoying and rude. Each to their own.
Reply from Andrea, Age 17 - 11/16/08 - IP#: 76.31.209.xxx Well duh, but people still SHOULDN'T use profanity, I know that some people WILL, but they just shouldn't. I hate how people use it in everyday sentences that don't need it.
Reply from Samantha, Age 17 - 11/16/08 - IP#: 69.123.117.xxx Ok, last I checked, we had freedom of speech in this country, and children and their parents should be fully aware that they can be exposed to words like "bitch" on the internet.
Reply from Andrea, Age 17 - 11/16/08 - IP#: 76.31.209.xxx you still don't use that word on this website with 13 yr olds, it is teaching them the wrong thing.
Reply from Samantha, Age 17 - 11/16/08 - IP#: 69.123.117.xxx Ok, I'm pretty sure that she didn't actually mean her sister was a bitch.
Reply from Andrea, Age 17 - 11/15/08 - IP#: 98.196.191.xxx Don't call your sister a b****, that's rude and unpolite.
