And she told me that i was really obese and then she measured my belly and like gave me a bunch of papers and she said that all this fat was probably in my organs and now i have to stay after school and run with a gym teacher and a bunch of other fat kids. And I'm one of the biggest of everyone there and i feel so wierd with my belly jiggling around all over. But isnt it wierd that they make me stay after and run twice a week?
Reply from Christine, Age 16 - 12/27/08 - IP#: 12.175.230.xxx That happened to me a few years ago. For the scoliosis test, the nurse commented on my weight (I was 12 and about 200 pounds, 5'6). What she did was send a note to my parents saying I was probably obese. We also had a fitness test done (body fat, measurements, numbers of situps and pushups, time to run a mile -- of all which I was awful at since I had 30% body fat and a 40 inch waist), as well as a class on eating healthy, and a note to extend gym times. I lost about 20 pounds that year, so I recommend it.

Reply from Benny, Age 16 - 12/26/08 - IP#: 124.170.101.xxx I'm sure they want what's best for you, even if it is embarrassing. But if being a healthy weight is the outcome, I'd say it's worth it. I know a story of a guy who's gym teacher said he was too fat to join the track team, so he ran everyday until he was one of the fittest kids at his school. Then at a track race, he managed to beat every kid that the gym teacher was training, the gym teacher was so pissed off that he hit the kid, and got fired and jail time. Pretty funny story
Reply from Amanda, Age 13 - 12/23/08 - IP#: 78.46.247.xxx Thank GOD we don't have that in my school! I sometimes get really tired from WALKING because my stomach is TOO HEAVY. Running is OUT of the QUESTION!!! TOO UNcomfortable I would be crying in one minute! Maybe I have FAT in my organs too because it's HARD to breathe when I sit forward. BTW I'm 4'11" and weight 260.

Reply from Ben, Age 13 - 12/22/08 - IP#: 98.215.156.xxx I think that would be a good idea...
