Reply from Taylor, Age 15 - 02/04/09 - IP#: 75.66.64.xxx I would say it doesn't count as water because it's NOT water. All beverages are MADE with water, but nothing counts as a subsitute for water. Other things can keep you hydrate, and sure they taste better, but everything else has calories (but green tea has very few calories)and other ingredients. So no, can't "count as" water, because it's not, but green tea doesn't have very many calories, so it doesn't mean you can't drink it instead of water sometimes, but you definitely should still drink lots of water.
