I've gained again 2 lbs. that's 13 lbs in four weeks. :-( Today my mom told me: "You're getting fatter day by day". Wow. Didn't know that before... But what can I do - I feel like I have to eat all the time. My belly has gotten so fat. And I'm still hungry.
Reply from Jennifer, Age 16 - 08/23/09 - IP#: 84.131.16.xxx Thanks, Britney! Good to hear that i worked for you. But obviously you gained it all back. So that's no way to lose weight for long term. Diets just make you fatter, after a while.
Reply from britney, Age 15 - 08/22/09 - IP#: 67.81.57.xxx the only thing that worked for me was a few years ago. in 6th grade i was around 140 pounds, 5 foot and wearing size 8 jeans. then during the summer and beginning of seventh grade i would eat either special k protein bar or cereal for breakfast, another protein bar for lunch, apples with peanut butter for a snack and i would eat whatever was for dinner but only a little bit or a lean cuisine. i had to buy a new pair of jeans every week! by the middle of 7th grade, i wore size zero jeans. i think i might try eating that way again and you should try it too!

You know, I'm trying and trying and trying to eat those good foods and avoid the jung food. But then I get cravings and I just have to eat! I feel so helpless. Did you find anything what worked for you?
Reply from britney, Age 15 - 08/20/09 - IP#: 67.81.57.xxx the same thing happens to me all the time. i think you should keep yourself busy and stay out of the kitchen. and eating more fiber and drinking more water could help too. i keep gaining weight and it sucks. and exercise.
Reply from Jess, Age 16 - 08/19/09 - IP#: 71.17.34.xxx If you don't already, try to get your mom to get healthy snacks. Some I like are fresh apples, oranges, and bananas, bell peppers, individual apple sauce cups, individual fruit cups (packed in fruit juice, not syrup!) whole grain tortilla chips and salsa, popcorn, and tuna salad on a whole wheat wrap. If you're used to eating junk food, it might take a while to change your tastes, but it's well worth it. These things (except maybe the tortilla chips) I eat whenever I just have mindless cravings, because the benefit of eating them pretty much outweighs the caloric cost. Also, keep the number 7622 in your mind, you should eat about 7 servings of fruit/vegetables, 6 servings of breads/grains, and 2 each of milk & meat products a day.
