Reply from Juliette, Age 17 - 07/04/10 - IP#: 99.237.131.xxx It's actually more effective if you eat 6 small meals a day. "Small", being the keyword. Because, if you only eat 1-2 meals a day, your body goes into starvation mode, between those two meals, and tries to save as many calories for energy as possible. Thus, even if you exercise daily, your body will really hold onto those calories and that fat, and won't allow you to lose the weight. Starvation resistance, basically. So you want to change that by eating 6 small meals a day (including breakfast in the morning). Make sure you eat from all the food groups. In the morning, try to have a breakfast high in fibre, which is healthy but provides a lot of energy at the same time. It alos keeps you feeling full for longer periods of time. Try to equally space out those 6 meals. (every 2-3 hours) and eat dinner a couple of horus before you go to bed, say, 7-8 o'clock. Try not to eat dinner right before going to sleep. Also, speaking of sleep, get a good night's sleep every day, if you can. Also helps your body be healthier. Try not to forget to take vitamins, either in vegetables, fruits and other categories, or by taking them as supplements. Hmmm.... Do full-body exercises, trying to work all areas of your body and include strength training (ex: weights), as well as building up your core for better endurance. But amke sure you don't over-exercise either. Because after a certain time of exercising, your muscles get exhauasted, and at that point you are no longer able to successfully tone-up (from what i've read). Instead of toning up, your muscles break down slowly for more energy. So basically, the key word is moderation. Exercise, diet, your'e allowed to exercise and eat anything, as long as you do so in moderation. Wow. that was a lot fo writing. Hoping that you can use at least one of these little tidbits i've learned in order to improve. Lastly, don't "hate" yourself.Remember, your physical body isn't everything. Yes, you may screw up, or gain weight, but that's no reason to hate your body. Love yoru body, and because you care, make sure you keep trying to maintain its health. Good Luck and all the best to you! xo ~ Juliette
