Im 12 and about 175-180(5"5) and sometimes I get embarresed to go to the mall because I shop at the same store as my mom and It is a plus size store and my always buys me things from there and that makes me feel bad b-cus me and my mom shop at the same store.
Reply from Ashley, Age 12 - 02/08/01 I know exactly how you feel. I'm 12 and I weigh 144 and my mom wears a 4 and I wear an 8. It really makes me upset. Just try to find something that you are really good at and spend some time doing that to get your mind off it (I bet there is something that you are really good at that your mom isn't). Reply from Ariel, Age 14 - 01/03/01 If you're so embarrassed to go shopping in the same store with her, do something else together. Like walking. That way you can tell her your feelings and get fit at the same time. My mom and I do it and we always have lots to talk about and we feel good after we walk. Or you could exercise on your own. Then you'll see results in both areas of your life. You won't have to be embarrassed when you go shopping with your mom, and you'll look and feel better, too. Just remember: GOD LOVES YOU!!!!!!
