hey everyone, i am about to turn 13. I am jewish and i am going to have a bat mitzvah, but none of the dresses fit me right! i feel like my stumache is hanging out, even tho my mom says it looks fine. Like i said, im turning 13 and i weigh 116. this may not seem like a terror to u, but lately some of the people at school make rude comments. i feel so depressed, i dont know what to do! please someone help me! i am soo upset.

Well, it happens to us all, and weight is a huge issue with all young girls no matter what size. i struggeled with it myself, and still do but i went from 174 lbs in the 6th grade (much larger than you dear) to 140 lbs in the 10th grade... all i did was decide to do something and everynight i got into the habbit of doing sit-ups and such, i walked a lot, and ate a little better, and i feel healthier! but i just wanted to tell ya that jr high stinks for almost everyone, wait and see what the future holds before you go and decide you don't like the way you look, its probably the little kids talking in your mind... and in a few years, all they'll be is little kids! so sweetie don't fret over such a silly little thing, espicially because there is absolutely no reason to! ~god bless~ Amanda

Keep it right and you'll be fine- Stop for a few minutes, think about some foods you do like that aren't fattening- like salads with lowfat dressings- get in the habit of nibbling on things that have no fat content in them. Just go for a walk every day and night if you can and start eating a lot of fruit, a lot of vegetables without butter or margarine, try and eat some baked fish every week!! tuna is very good for you- just add a very little bit of relish if you like and give up the bread! Just eat a little bit of wholewheat bread. take a vitamin every day- tell yourself you can do it and just start thinking thin today!! We love all of you- all you can do is take one step at a time.. eat Turkey breast too! Eat oatmeal- the kind you cook and put a little honey and milk and raisins in it- its the best thing to eat everyday for breakfast- it is sooooooooooo good for you!! Really.. Please try this- It will help you and remember, someone is praying real hard for you :)

Eat whatever you like but only eat half of it. For example,instead of eating a whole pizza eat half and leave the rest until the next day. You are not fat at all but if you think you are then I might as well help you so good luck, Kate from Ireland.
