I am almost 14 and I hate how I look. I weigh like 165 and am 5'5. I really want to lose the fat! Every time i weigh myself, i just keep getting heavier and heavier! Some people even make fun of me at school and i hate it. I know I should go to a doctor and ask for some kind of diet but I'm not very close with my step-mom or my dad and I can't ask them to take me cause they'll go into this big talk and i hate those! You know? Spring Break is coming up and im going to an N'sync concert. i really want to look good. Also, this summer, i'm going on vacation with my friend. She is really skinney and makes me look even bigger! i hate going around in a bathing suit, looking like this. My goal is to reach 120. I know it will be a lot of work but if anyone has any advice, please respond to this. Thank you so much. I need this.. and for the rest of you, good luck! :o)

Im guessing your still in middle school. Im 5'5, and used to wiegh the same as you, now i weigh 138, and my goal is 120 too, but you can't use that as your overall goal to get started. Start with "i wanna lose just 5 pounds." i started to doing that, and have lost almost 15 pounds now, set small goals at a time, it really works. Believe me start small. My diet is no cokes, no juice, just water. No junk food:no pizza, chips, mayonaisse, white bread, dressing, cookies, candy, heavy meats, no cheese. I cut out all the junk food and i lost 5 pounds easily just from that, looking at the labels and reading the fat count, really helps. I started excercising 6 days a week too, I do kickboxing 3 days a week, and cycling, and step machines the other days, and there HAS to be at least one day where u don't do anything so your body can recuperate. I remember when i was 14 i really really wanted to lose weight, but i never did anything serious about it till i was 15. When i was 13-14, puberty really started to set in and i just dropped 10 pounds, outa nowhere, thats because everybody's body chemistry is different, and who knows it might happen w/ you. I had this cousin who was incredibly fat, then he turned 14, puberty hit, and he's a stick. Stick with healthy eating, and daily excercise and i guarantee you'll see results. But you can't see results fast, i know ive wanted to give up plenty of times, but after a while of being consistent, key word-consistent-, youll be at the wieght you want to be. Don't let what others say infulence the way you feel about your body.Forget them. If you hate your body now, i also garentee that you WON'T lose ANY weight, because it starts from inside, you have to learn how to love yourself and your body the way it is, and be happy with it, and then want to change your eating and excercise habits to be - healthy. A group of women in a study with a positive body image started like that, and dropped 10 pounds easy too. Love and care for whats inside first, or else you won't get anywhere. lots of luck to you.
