hey! My names Darren, im not here about me..its about my girlfriend Katyln.I love her soo much, we have been together for 4 years now!She thinks she overweight...and shes not AT ALL!Shes 5'6 and weighs 92lbs.She wont eat...and when she does its only like a cookie.Im afraid somethings going to happen to her...and im very worried.Itook her out to the fairgrounds lastnight..i was telling her how i felt about her not eating..and how i wanted her to eat!I thought that it would make her eat right...but i was wrong..My best friend told me to threaten her of breaking up with her if she dont eat...but, im afraid that might not work out soo well!I was on here reading some things that people wrote...like:tell her that food is very important to us, and we need it! and....eat to live, not, live to eat! and a bunch of others!If anyone knows anything...any advice for me...PLEASE...PLEASE CONTACT ME...i would really turn my frown upside down......:( :)

Reply from Kristina, Age 15 - 06/05/02 - IP#: 205.188.198.xxx she is definetly ana, i am 5'0 80 pounds, my bmi (basal metabolism weight) is underweight and she sounds alot thinner than i am. I have a friend who is anorexic and her boyfriend, to get her to stop, gave up eating and then my friend was really upset and tried to make him eat again and he said the only way he would was if she did. it sounds drastic but it might help her realize how much she is hurting you. If nothing else works give it a try.
Reply from clare, Age 17 - 06/05/02 - IP#: 195.92.67.xxx Hi Darren Do you think your girlfriend is anorexic? She could be from what you have said. She is very underweight from the sounds of it. If she is anorexic telling her to eat won't make her eat. Anorexics stop eating usually because of a deeper problem than just because they think they are fat. Does Katlyn recognise that she has a problem? If she does would she consider talking to a counselor or somebody about it. From the sounds of it you sound like a very understanding person and I would encourage you to keep supporting Katlyn through letting her know that you are there to talk to but don't push too hard as she will only talk when she is ready. I wouldn't reccommend threatening to break up with her as this may make matters worse. She is probably insecure about herself which is why she thinks she is fat, threatening to break up with her may cause her to feel more insecure. i hope that this is of some use to you and that Katlyn is okay Clare
