Ok, first off, alot of you are misguided, i have been reading post here for some time, and well, im frankly disgusted because of some of the ignorance of the people posting. Now i know alot of you are here to loose weight, and some are here to help in your quest, but people posting about working out for 7 hrs a day, and eating less than 100 calories a day, thats fatal...(Click here to see rest of message)

I think because you took sometime they might understand now. I hope you'll stay on this board or at least visit it every so often because I keep typing out the same message of not going to extremes and loving yourself first, but the more you say it, the more people just ignore you, and I would really like to help change people's attitudes and ideas on this board.
Reply from Sam, Age 12 - 07/21/02 - IP#: 198.81.16.xxx I agree with you... I weigh 144 right now and I dont take in only about 1500 or 900 calories a day or anything like that. I keep it at a normal 2100 calorie diet.... It kept me at 150 lbs for about 2 years because of that. and every summer I go hiking and camping, plus I jog with my dog for 2 miles every day. I went down to 144 though because I tend to lose some eight when I am sick for a long period of time, which I was this year. Anyways, I do lots of crunches, and its also very good to go swimming. For me, I usually swim for about 3-4 hours during the summer or until I get tired. But back to your point, Its true. People who are skipping meals and cutting down to like 1000 calories are just believing everything they hear. That could very easily give you Anorexia and Bluemia, and it wont make you lose that weight. I am glad you posted this one to show these people who try and starve themselves.

That girl you were talking about, will either have a breakdown, or hopefully, realise that these things take time. Anyway, awsome advice, and thanks again.

Reply from catherine, Age 15 - 07/19/02 - IP#: 209.86.214.xxx thank you i was going to say the same to these people too they work themselves too hard, and exercising doesnt starts to get exhausting im not overweight im 5'4 120 i jus want to lose 5 or 10 pounds, and i have been doing that stuff you typed already and im getting good results i do 30 walking/ running 60 pushups(the girlie kind) 50 situps 50 leglifts on each side and its doing really good for me.
