Hey everyone. I am 18 years old. I have been with my boyfriend for 14 months and then he broke up with me. Now he is going out with this skinny girl. I just have to lose weight. I have not eaten anything in the past two days and I lost about 5 pounds. I dont know, I am not really hungry and i take vitamins...so do you guys think this is ok? I mean, I drink lots of water and i take my vitamins...so let me know what you think!? I am so lost and confused. I think he broke up with me because I am fat. So now i am losing it all so he will want me again!!!

I had a similar thing happen to me- I've started losing weight (9 lbs in 6 days) on a program. the guy (i was in 8th grade) goes to my high school and one of my goals is to walk by him and just make him check me out again... but he was a jerk and im never going back to him ive got better friends now /lol! Good Luck! p.s.- don't starve yourself. I tried, lost 20 lbs and a week later rocketed 40 lbs up to 160. it wasn't fun, and i got all those nasty strech marks...
Reply from .............., Age 14 - 02/01/03 - IP#: 62.30.192.xxx He sounds kind of shallow. what you should do is lose it for you..for motivation just think about the result..wen u can walk past him looking as hot as ever and laugh in his face for dumping you!! If i were you i wouldnt get back wid him..you can find someone much much better out there. All you have to do is eat right. Dont starve yourself!!! because this makes you put on more weight. what i would do is as your losing weight ( by excercising 3 times a week, or every day for half an hour, but make sure you do at least 2 hours of excercise) to tone as well. by doing 20 situps a day then work up to 40 then 50 and so on, do an extra 5-10 every day. so wen u finish you will have lost weight and have a really toned stoumach. swimming and areobics is one of the fastest ways to lose weight. swimming tones arms and legs, and is gr8 for your heart. Do this for you not him. Just excercise and dont think of yourself on a 'diet' because the first thing you will want to do is break it and eat sumthing ' bad'. there is no food in the world that is bad, as long as you eat it in moderation. you can have a treat of course you can!! but just cut it in half, so theres still sumthing nice to eat but less calories. Also DONT calorie count..it makes you put on more weight wen u stop, and do you really want to count every little thing u eat or drink>? Herbal tea is gr8 and so is water to drink to replace fizzy drinks.

I will probably have eating problems for ever now! All because I wanted to be skinny. I got what I wanted but my skin went dry and flaky, I got spots, then when i got really skinny i grew a kind of downy hair all over my body NOT ATTRACTIVE!!!! It is what the body does to keep warm when it has no fat. I had no curves, my period stopped, my hair got thinner and thinner and then fell out. My period has come back but for many anorectics it doesnt so they can never have babies. I looked like a famine victim and no guy would have ever wanted to be my bf!!! I looked disgusting. And now I am a thinnish normal weight but i will have a lifetime of obsessing about food and eating!!!!!! That is REALITY!!!

But in my opinion that isnt going to make him like you any more. It may in fact push him away. In the long run...if you want to lose weight...do it for yourself. No guy is worth making yourself sick over. I know you are hurting right now, but eventually you will realize that everything is ok without him and that you dont need to lose any weight to impress him. I am sure things will work out fine! Good Luck at whatever you choose to do though...

My friend has aneroxia and had almost died!! she was so close to liver failer You have to eat to stay alive if you dont you will die you need more than vitemans and drinks! please hun anerexia is not cool its hard on yourself and others around you! trust me
Reply from ... - 02/01/03 - IP#: 68.112.191.xxx Well...i have lost 10 lbs in two days from not eating. my body will just eat the fat that i have...it will eventually work. i ate a little salad today...so are you all happy? he didnt exactly break up with me cuz im fat...its just now he is with some skinny girl and i feel thats why even though deep down i know its not...so i dont care what you guys think...it would take at least months for me to die. i drink tons of water and thats good enough. at the rate i am going...by the time a couple months is up i will look great and feel great!

You should lose weight for you, and then to see the look on his face when you are skinny would be a bonus! Dont starve yourself. Sooner or later youll see some food and be so hungry youll just binge and you wont even realise how much you've eaten! If you starve yourself your metabolism will slow and stop you from losing weight. Aim for 2 pounds a week loss by eating low fat foods and lots of fruits/veggies and cutting back portions and lots water. Good luck!

It is never good to go w/o eating. Vitamins will give you specifically the minerals you need, but energy can only come from actual food, and w/o energy your body will shut down. It will think you are starving, and so then your metabolism will slow down in order to conserve energy. A slow metabolism means no weight loss. Just eat balanced, proportional meals, and exercise.
