Ht. 5'9", Today: 195 lb (BMI %tile: 93) - I have a question. Do you HAVE to do strength training exercise to lose weight? Do I have to join a gym and do weights? Cause I lost weight before by jogging which I love doing and still do, but I hear alot about you have to do strength training. I would like to do it but later when I'm nearly at my goal weight, and all the fat is gone and I'll actually be able to see the muscles building. Does anyone have some experience with this? I am 5'9 about 195lbs.

doing weight will make you look slimmer and more toned but you will be heavier cos muscle weighs more than fat

It isn't required to do stregth training but I will suggest it because I joined weight training class about 5 weeks ago and I'm looking better and feeling better. Good luck!

Yes, you should do strenth training. But you don't have to go to a gym to do so. Just buy some free weights and do exercises at home. Weight lifting really revs your metabolism and keeps it higher much longer after your work out than aerobic excerise. But also do your workouts you're doing now. You don't even have to weight lift very often. Try about twice a week. You can do it!!! God bless you!!!
