(this was 3 months ago and my friend, her dad, and I were at the gym.) I almost cried when I learned i was heavier than her dad. Anyway, ever since then, I've been struggling to lose the weight. I never realized I was so heavy, because I can shop and fit into "normal" clothes at places like Wet Seal and Forever 21. I think I have lost some weight since then, but the thing I'm struggling with most is the food I eat. I cannot control what I eat, like just today, I woke up and ate 4 pieces of toast. Not more then an hour and a half later, my sister (who is skinny) had McDonald's and I made myself some french fries (bcause she had some and i WANTED some.)Then I ate a bowl of cereal. It's weird cause I know what I'm doing, but I say to myself "who cares I'm still gonna be fat anyway" but I don't WANT to be this way. So does anyone have any tips on how I can control myself. I already spent $15 bucks on this book last year, and it had the same suggestions that this website has, but I think I just need some motivation or something. PLEASE HELP! (Sorry I wrote so much!)
Reply from Michelle, Age 13 - 05/30/04 - IP#: 24.250.163.xxx hi , im michelle & and i weigh 125 lbs! i had a boyfriend and he broke up w/ me cause i wuz fat! imagine how harsh that wuz when thre school heared it! talk about ((EMBARRASING)) sO I tried the atkins diet and it worked ok. but what i made up myself is that to put a not on the refrigerator or cabnets, or pantry or whtevr u cal it saying (don't eat yet) or(its not time to eat) or something to remind you that you shouldn't eat yet! People only eat beacause they're bored! Well maybe if people would get off there lazy a**es they would not be fat. Do you get what im sayin, well im just sayin to do something so you won't be bored k? *michelle*

ONE WAY YOU CAN LOSE WEIGHT IS NOT TO THINK ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU WEIGH.. ASK YOUR MOM TO NOT TO HAVE ANY SWEET FOODS IN THE HOUSE BUT CANNED FRUIT AND VEGETABLES.
Reply from Ashley, Age 13 - 05/18/03 - IP#: 66.188.26.xxx Hi...I would just like to say I know how you feel I also have a brother who always has Mcdonalds and I have like fries because I want some and it's not fair beacause he is REALLY skinny and I hate it!!!and when ever i start eating it is like I cant stop!!!SO anyway,for my advice...Like say afterschool, when you want to have a snack or something just have fruit or some salad because when you think oh, Ill just have this, you really dont think of how much you will have to do to burn it off later. I weigh 167 lbs. and i am 13 and I fit into normal clothes too(aeropostale and american eagle) but that still doesnt mean that you weight is healthy. sorry for writing so much. You may also have to learn to control what you eat by gradually cutting what you eat in half, or controling the amount you eat by using "portion control." Also try to set a time where you will eat breakfast, lunch and dinner with NO snacks in between. That way you will get into the habit of eating small portions of "normal" (or the food you usually eat)food throughout the day. If you can't help yourself, and HAVE to eat a snack try a salad, fruit, or a popsicle (not icecream). Whatever you do, don't starve yourself, because it will lower you're metabolism when you start eating again.
