is there anyone here that knows a really good way to stay on a diet cuz i start out good, go for about a week and then if i eat ONE thing off my diet, i start eating everything in sight! i really would like to lose about 30-40 pounds by thanksgiving cuz a lot of family that i haven't seen in a while is coming up and i hate being the fat cousin. is there anything i could do to keep the motivation for my diet?
Reply from anne, Age 16 - 08/22/03 - IP#: 216.66.108.xxx i read the blubberbuster advice for cravings and it said to hold your hands together. i was like yeah right! that is not going to work for me! but last night i watched my boyfriend eat a reeses sunday and i didn't have a single bite. as simple as it sounds- it works, hey- if you don't have your hands free then you won't grab and eat stuff. also try to keep busy too-make it so you don't have time to binge, whether it's mentally busy or physically busy...

Reply from charlotte, Age 17 - 08/21/03 - IP#: 68.165.42.xxx you don't have to cut foods out of your diet, just eat less. For example, instead of a whole bar of chocolate, eat half, or if you love milkshakes order a small one. It's the amount of calories you eat that count, not what foods you eat, although healthier foods make you feel fuller, longer, and usually have less calories.
Reply from marie, Age 16 - 08/20/03 - IP#: 24.118.166.xxx just remeber that eating somethin that's not part of the planned diet does NOT mean you need to quit the diet. Thats the problem people have with sticking to their goals they think once they stray even slightly from the path they can't keep going, but you can! If you eat a little too much today, just try a little harder the next day to exercise more or something, or just keep going with your plan. If you fall down just get back up agian I know I have my bad days, or even weeks, or even months, but I keep going and I've lost 45 pounds and only have 5 more to go!
