Err... I got up at 4:45 (EST) like I planned to. Went outside and only went around the block twice (half walking, half running) because its so darn cold. Any tips for running in cold weather? Cuz my lungs felt like they were gonna crack cuz of the cold air. Thanks --Todd

Hey I know how you feel with the cold air entering your lungs! Try playing a football game in canada in late novemeber, not very fun when you get out of breath and its all cold air you're breathing in. Haven't really found a solution for it though..

P.S. I know that number one of the list is kind of hard to understand but basicly just WEAR LAYERS!

1. Wear layers
(BASE LAYER: polypropylene (Capilene, Thermion, Thermax and Thermastat) or silk undershirt and longjohns.)
(INSULATING LAYER: shirt and pants of wool, fleece, pile, or down.)
(OUTER LAYER: Windproof and water-resistant jacket worn loosely.)
(Avoid cotton as it does not wick sweat and will cool you rapidly if it gets wet. )
2. Wear thick socks.
3. Wear a hat to insulate head and retain heat.
4. Wear a scarf wraped loosely around your nose and mouth to prevent the icy air from getting in your lungs.
5. Wear gloves or mittens
6. Wear chapstick and sunscreen to protect skin and lips.
7. Warm up for atleast 10 minutes to get your blood circulation moving
8. Drink 8 oz. of water every 15-30 minutes while walking.
9. Have a change of clothing ready at the end of your walk to prevent rapid cooling from wet clothing.
10. Plan for a nice warm drink when you finish.
