okay i decided to eat and im going to be eating 400 calories a day until next friday and then saturday I will eat 800... then for 10 days I will be on the water fast which i should loose 1 lb a day... today I ate two crackers, one nonfat yogurt, two slices of pineapple, and one cup of soup... i would say i did pretty well :) then I did walk aerobics and pilates

Reply from katherine, Age 18 - 02/26/04 - IP#: 142.103.49.xxx "you cut a lot of calories from your diet, your body goes into survial mode, thinking that you are in a situation that may keep you from food for a long period of time (kinda like the fat storing ablility of a bear when he sleeps for the winter, his calorie burning furance is cut in half and the body starts to burn mucsle more then fat to help you survive longer). For every 5 pounds of fat you lose you will lose one pound of muscle, that is how the body works. By the time you get down to your weight goal you will still more then likely have a slightly high body fat percentage because you lost a lot of your muscle mass, and your ability to burn calories has droped about 50% causing you to yo yo your weight back up to what you started at and more then likely increase to even more. The best way to lose weight and keep it off for a life time is to make a lifestyle change, everyone these days wants everything now, and don't understand that its not about now, its about tomorrow. What are you going to do when you reached your desired weight? Go off the diet? You have no idea how to eat healty all you know how to do is diet, and you can't diet your whole life, you will wither away into nothing and be a victim of eating disorder that kills many young women today, because they think everything they eat will be fat and are afraid of going back to what they where before. Study up and eat healthy, you will live longer, happier and believe me, I have been on a diet and it just makes you crancky, unhappy, and weak. Thats my two cents."
