i was told not to do sit=ups and stuff bc i will build fat underneath the muscles..but i do exersise tapes and they work out the abbs like side bends and stuff..is that the same thing?..so should i stop that?

you can do sit-ups. in fact you need to build muscle under fat- but in order to burn the fat away you need to do some cardio workout- not just side bends! go out for a speed walk and then do the sidebends and sit-ups. get 30-60 min. of cardio at least 4 times a week to see a difference. good luck!
