I used to come onto this board often, around November, to get tips on how to lose weight and exercise. I got a lot of great information but I always seemed to be on the computer and I never really dedicated myself to the whole diet/exercise experience. In January, I really started to become serious about losing weight. I wasn't that overweight (5'4 136) but I had low self esteem and I always felt like all the new fashion trends didn't look right on me because of my weight. This time, I was serious about my diet. I tried 2 diets from December til June. Atkins and Raw Food Diet. Within the first two weeks of Atkins, I lost around 8 pounds. I was so happy with myself. The next 3 weeks I lost about 5 pounds total. And for weeks after that, I didn't lose anymore weight. I had hit my weight loss plateu. I was watching a special on VH1 and I saw something about a lot of celebs going on the raw food diet. I quickly got online and researched it. I decided to give it a try. It's really strict and based on consuming unprocessed, preferably organic, whole-plant based foods. At first, it had some detoxification effects...but that was the only side effect for me. In two weeks I had lost 11 pounds. After that I was only losing about 2-3 pounds a week. I put all my dedication into this diet, and I never cheated. I rode my exercise bike for a half hour in the morning (which burned around 375 calories) and an hour at night (which burned anywhere from 600 to 750, depending on the tension level) As of today, I weigh 110 pounds. I think for my bone structure that I am the perfect size. I wear a size 3 and I love it. Sorry this is so long but I really wanted to get my story across. If you are really serious about losing weight then you can do it. Don't make lame excuses either. Research diets online or at your library and find one that you think will work for you. Exercise also plays a big key factor in losing weight. Good luck!!!
