Reply from Winona, Age 17 - 08/14/04 - IP#: 168.193.169.xxx I didn't get mine until I was almost 16. Probably because of working long hours. I was afraid to say anything because I knew it cost money when we don't have much. But sooner or later parents should know. Otherwise they'll start to worry.

Reply from Krystle, Age 19 - 08/13/04 - IP#: 195.93.33.xxx Why don't you want to tell your mum??? She will be exspecting you to start soon because your about the right age, how do you think she'll react to this news? Having your period doesn't mean your an over night woman, it's just your body's first step into womanhood. There is nothing to be ashamed of and it's an amazing blessing, that is sometimes seen as a curse. When I started my period it was my older brothers that went and bought the pads for me, how the years have passed!! I didn't want them knowing but it didn't ruin my life because they did know.I found it easier telling people and shockingly this month, I told my best guy friend. I never done that before and I was well chuffed!!!!!! Never had the period conversation with my dad, must make it a "must do" for the year 2015!!!!!!lol Everything will be fine babes, just tell your mum if you get your period this month because she's gonna find out some time. Plus it's better you telling her than her finding out for herself. Mothers know all, and find out everything they don't!!!!!!!!! Krystle xxx
Reply from Emily, Age 13 - 08/12/04 - IP#: 68.148.170.xxx I am kinda in the same situation as you, but the thing is i don't have a mom , and i am way too emmbraessed to tell my dad. u should tell your mom, cuz seriously its not fun going to the store and buying pruducts with your own money, i know it may kinda sound stupid of me to tell u this i haven't told anyone, but really u should tell your mom, as it will make your life so much easier and she will help u carry that so called burden of your period.

Reply from Steph, Age 13 - 08/12/04 - IP#: 4.165.105.xxx Its not a big deal. I was really scared to tell my mom at first because i got it when i was kinda young. Just ask her not to make a big deal about it if ur worried.
Reply from Sam, Age 15 - 08/12/04 - IP#: 12.108.100.xxx I did the same thing, until I realized she was the one that needed to buy me my products. This is something you should tell your mom because serious things could happen and I am sure your mom would like to know. A lot of things can happen to us girls with our periods, like cists and those are a serious matter your mom needs to be aware of. Don't be scared, we all go through it. E-mail me anytime. Reply from Catherine, Age 15 - 08/12/04 - IP#: 67.168.60.xxx Why dont you tell your mom. When I started mine, I was thrilled and it was early in the morning and I woke up I was excited to tell her. It was the first one I was excited about, now well you know! Maybe because I was the first one of my friends to start, and I called everyone! My best friend at the time was so excited too, I was the first person she called. You should tell your mom, she is going to find out sooner or later, it would be better if it is sooner!
