hey i have a question.. say i eat 1400 calories per day, but 800 of those are from chewing gum...(yes, 2 8 packs per day usually i chew it like candy then pop another in, bad i know) but... will that keep me from losing weight? since i've started to do that i've still stayed the same weight and its not helping me lose anymore after the first 5 lbs i lost by just cutting cals. hm...help! Does chewing gum calories even keep you from losing?!?

hey! gum is alright, but it sounds like you have a bit too much of the wrong kind! If you're going to chew gum I'd chew something like Dentyne fire (for example) if you were to chew 2 packages of it a day (that 12 pieces per package) you'd only be consuming 72 calories, 24 carbs and 0 grams of fat. & it's sugarless too so it won't rot your teeth! If I were you I'd consider the switch. If not, really try to cut back on the gum! I think you said something about drinking pop. If that's the case, take it out of your diet right now! It's standing in your way of weight loss. Even diet pop!!

I agree w/ Catherine, you could get a lot of cavities from doing that, I just got one last week, and they filled it this week, and it felt so bad for like 15 hours! And mine was just a minor one!

Wow that is alot of gum. I chew gum alot, but not that much. If I chew gum too much, I get a headache, do you? Also make sure it is sugarfree because sugar gum can cause like really bad cavities, and isnt good for you.
