has anyone tried the atkins diet and had results.. i was going to start it and just stay with it but i dont want to start anything if its not going ot show results.. and if it does work.. the introduction is 2 weeks how much weight is normally lost in taht time period..? thanks alot i hope u guys can help me and COMMENT thanks alot.. lindsay

since your 16 and still growing into an adult, atkins may not give you all the nutrients you need. thats another reason not to do it :-\

i agree, i did atkins and lost 8 pounds in two weeks, then i gained 10 back!!! no one even knows the long term results, or if they are healthy! i would just lose weight the safe way, less calories, more exercise!

you'll definitely lose weight on atkins, but it's not a sustainable diet, which means you'll eventually gain it back. It also gives you halitosis (HORRIBLE bad breath) and it's overall very unhealthy to eat so much fat and meat. Carbohydrates are good! Just make sure to eat COMPLEX carbohydrates instead of refined carbs. complex carbs are things like whole wheat bread, pita, whole wheat pasta, potatoes.. etc. Avoid cookies and crackers, and look for things that have dietary fiber in them.
